most games. which is one of the most difficult tasks in football, regardless of position. that said, the Raiders were routinely among the worst run defenses in the league during his time there, and with him never leaving the short side of the field, it was just easier to flip your best receiver away from his coverage.
with his style of play, losing a step was probably a much bigger deal than for other corners. at his prime he used his long arms to stop routes before they started, and could stay in stride without safety help. but he was always too stiff to play the slot, and seeing receivers pull away from him on deep balls was the death toll -- he can't play off-coverage.
