Sad because from everything I have seen the only thing wrong with White is his head dude could have been a monster in the league.

The Philadelphia 76ers have released Royce White three months after acquiring him from the Houston Rockets in a trade, according to several reports.

White, a first-round pick at 16th overall in 2012 who never played for the Rockets, averaged 5.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in five preseason games with one start for the 76ers.

The 76ers sent Furkan Aldemir and future draft considerations to the Rockets in the deal.

Philadelphia also cut Khalif Wyatt, Vander Blue and Mac Koshwal on Thursday.

The 6-foot-8 White was on the inactive list for the Rockets as he worked on an arrangement to balance his acknowledged anxiety disorder with the demands of the NBA schedule, often criticizing the team in media interviews and via Twitter.

The Rockets suspended White on Jan. 6 after he refused to accept an assignment to Rio Grande Valley in the NBDL.

White tipped his cap Thursday to his Sixers teammates via Twitter.

sorry, that was awful.
2251317, If they really wanted to tank, they would've kept him and started him.

He's been terrible.

They are tanking, but they're letting him go because he's literally not good enough today to be on a tanking team.
2251330, this needs an okaysports meme

>with White is his head

I was hoping both he & Khalif Wyatt made the cut tho for different reasons.
2251370, Both cuts suprised me...

Wyatt was struggling and couldn't seem to get it going.

White mostly because they need front court help and houston is paying him. I got the feeling they'll be picking up someone from the waiver wire.

Same as it ever was!
2251381, he got tossed from the game & his T cost them a game the other night
Posted by Bombastic, Fri Oct-25-13 01:23 PM
maybe that was the issue, it sounded to me like Brett Brown was gonna keep him.

From an upside & intrigue standpoint, I certainly would rather he still be a Sixer than Kwame Brown.
2251378, lord i hope the wizards pick him up
Posted by naame, Fri Oct-25-13 01:14 PM
we need a SF!
2251383, he just got cut by the Sixers, dude is D-League bound at best
Posted by Bombastic, Fri Oct-25-13 01:23 PM
>we need a SF!
2251404, Wish him well, but hell no.
Posted by Awburn, Fri Oct-25-13 02:07 PM
No more drama.
2251424, He's not a SF. And you just drafted one who's much better.
Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Oct-25-13 03:15 PM
2251388, That's a pretty major issue
