Foles doesn't look good and it may have something to do with aggravating his groin injury...regardless, if we want to put up points, he has to make the relatively easy sitdown passes that he has missed.

Shoulda had some points to finish the half but Cooper drops a pass, Foles throws Desean out of bounds, and then Chip inexplicably elects to kick a 60 yarder rather than go for the first on 4th and 1 with one timeout left. Worse case scenario, Cowboys get the ball on their own 40..Henery never had a chance to make that kick.

Defensively...the D-line is playing very well. More inside pressure than I've seen all year...corners are doing a good job in man-man...I do see a couple flags coming Cary's way because he'a grabbing like shit.

Offense looks absolutely dreadful though. Fole has missed badly on some easy throws. He needs to get his head out of his ass and start throwing with a bit more zip and accuracy.

Chip has called a bad game on offense too. What an abysmal series of plays/decisions that led to Dallas getting one last chance before the half. 2nd and 1. Just run it or design a quick hit pass play to pick up the first down and then call z timeout. Then the decision to kick a 60 yard field goal with 16 seconds left was just dumb. Oh well, here's to a better 2nd half. I'm not feeling too optimistic unfortunately.

Me personally, I don't care who plays as long as we're winning. However, I can't see Foles being anything other than a backup. Limited athleticism and arm strength. Good, solid backup. The top priority for this team moving forward is finding a franchise quarterback.

Not saying we can't still screw up this last quarter. But the effort and competency is looking more consistent through the games now. It's nice.

of the game post, so I didn't see your name. But, of all
NFL games posted on this site, Eagles usually have the
greatest representation, as well as the most vocal posters

It's curious to me when so few fans are to be found. Sure,
individual posters disappear on this or that week. I'm
not in the Cowboys game threads EVERY week either. But,
it almost feels like a mass exodus today. Just sayin'

This game really was rough to watch as an Eagles fan. I was extremely pleased with our defense, but I knew something was terribly off with the offense early. Dallas just straight up dared us to pass it and Foles just wasn't up for the challenge (to put it mildly). The OL weren't sustaining their blocks (Herremans got trucked by Hatcher on multiple occasions) so Shady had no room to run all game long. It was just frustrating all around.

Hats off to Dallas. Their D stepped it up and their offense moved the ball enough/scored enough points to keep the momentum on their side for virtually all of the game.

Foles blew a lot of chances, but not getting Shady going
probably put too much of the game into Foles' hands.

Not seeing or anticipating the 2nd level on either...threw the ball right to Carter (nullified due to offsides) and then right to Lee. Typical of a rookie QB...so many times you hear just how much faster the game is in the NFL compared to the collegiate level.

I wonder when Nick got the concussion because he looked shaken up early.

missed on so many golden opportunities. You just can't waste a great showing by the defense (relative to the team's talent/performance thus far) and play as uninspired as the offense did today. Foles was horrendous. Not sure what to put that on. I'm just really, really disappointed because I know he's capable of playing much better.

The home game disappointments just seem to keep compiling. It's a shame because playing at home SHOULD give you an edge. But apparently, the Linc seems to suck the life out of Eagles teams as of late.

I still see the Eagles as a 7-9 team, so today's game really doesn't alter my perception of this team much. Just a strange & disappointing game to watch.

that to me will tell alot. on offense they in it, however that defense is horror and bull and right now Dallas has the best defense in the NFC East.

all Dallas has to do is win the games they are suppose to and hold up at home and they got the division. they have beaten Washington, Philly and the Giants and they will sweep one of those teams and that will give them the division.

Washington might get hot, however they can't afford to lose two games as things are now.

Dallas is in the driver's seat as long as they are healthy and played consistant and to me Dallas though they lost to Denver that game to me is a turning point into how there season will go

lie, the Eagles offense was amongst the best in the league (statistically) entering the game. 6 straight games with 450+ yards of offense - one of only 3 NFL teams to ever do that. I believe we were the first NFL team (or at least one of only a few) to amass over 1500 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing through the first 6 games of the season. The offense wasn't breaking records for points, but still posting high scoring numbers. None of that means anything unless those #'s translate to wins. But, to sit here and poke fun at Chip Kelly and discredit him because of one awful showing is ridiculous.

Cowboys fans in here crack me up. It's like it's impossible for you guys to simply acknowledge that your defense played a great game which was aided significantly by Nick Foles's porous showing. Instead it's a bunch of "OMGZZZZZZZ CHIP KELLY and FOLES SUCK!!! Where them points at???!!! OMG!" Chip didn't bring his best, but one game is hardly enough evidence to discredit the work he's done with the offense. He wasn't the one throwing those wounded ducks out there today.

transformed the offense. He's doing it with pretty much all the same players as last year. The offensive line is performing at a much higher level (health is certainly a positive contributing factor there). Vick is playing his best ball since 2010. Foles had a 300 yard/3 td passing game. McCoy's #'s are up. The offense has been outstanding. Most level-headed Eagles fans didn't think things would go this smoothly (discounting today's game of course) on offense.

There were 2 truths entering this season. And these 2 truths are things that can control a team's fate.

1 - We have no clear cut franchise QB to build the team around. Vick was the best option as free agency and the draft offered no enticing options. I highly doubt Vick is who Chip has in mind to run his offense long term though.

2 - The defense is in complete shambles and will struggle as it adjusts to a completely different philosophy - the 3-4.

Vick has played pretty good so far, but his flaws (fragility/accuracy issues) are still evident. The defense looked promising today, but is amongst the league's worst and will continue to be a work in progress until they can bring in guys better suited to play in the 3-4 and at least 1-2 impact DBs.

People can rag on Chip all they want, but the bottom line is that he doesn't have the players he needs to truly build his team to match his vision. 7-9 and continual progress was all I was/am hoping to see this year. I'm not disappointed at all.

After six fantastic games from the offense, one bad game with the second and third string QBs means chip Kelly is a fraud. Ok, dude.

I watched it at some spot called The Kezar Pub in San Francisco (which someone featured more Eagle fans in there then Niners or Cowboys fans put together) and Romo/Garrett were trying their best to give the game back but Foles & Co couldn't take it.

i'm not minimizing a groin pull. i've had a pulled groin before. that shit hurts. but i could see your groin fucking w/ you if you had to plant and wind up (like on a deep throw). but an nfl qb is expected to have the arm strength (shit, a h.s. qb) to throw 10-15 yds flatfooted or off his back foot.

and they was talkin that groin shit after he had just run for a first down.

i'm not gonna rule out that he coulda had a concussion earlier. or some undisclosed injury to his throwing arm or hand. in that case, that's on him and the coaching staff. (vick don't get a pass for playing that HORRENDOUS game against AZ a year or so ago with broke ribs from the 2nd snap).

i'll say this, though, i would think that he HAD to be injured early. b/c that was the worst qb performance i've seen in a long long time.


and you also see what happens to the run game when teams don't fear the deep ball. eagles blocked conventionally(by kelly's own admission) -- more power and sweep than read option, and the safeties were coming down into the box and lighting shady up, and guys weren't getting that extra double team at the point of attack that they get when vick is under center.

he had hella time, too, on most snaps.

and i don't know wtf chip was smoking on that 60 yd fg. ni&&a, your kicker is alex henery. (he barely made the 31 yarder). yet another wasted ass draft pick. what was he a 4th or 5th rounder?
