last year and this year tho
alex was connecting on 70% of his passes last year vs 57% this year, which is leading to a difference of nearly 2 yards per attempt.
he's still not really turning the ball over, which is all that has mattered with the defense playing as it is, but he's definitely not playing as well as he was last year

but not really 'balling' in real life as the reason for his squad's success.
Most of their biggest games he's still leaving points on the board, tossing it up to Calvin or side-arming to speedy-check-downs.
That Chicago game for example he was basically horrible to anyone who actually watched the game, missing wide open receivers, fumbling at the goal line but having it pop right back into his arms, being unable to connect with one of the league's best receiving weapons, 70% of his completions dump-off passes to a back or game-manager tight-end tosses, etc.
Then you look & see that he had like 250 yards with a TD toss plus another TD run, only one INT and the Lions put up 40 so looking at the stat sheet would indicate he had a good day.
Ultimately though a team with their talent on both sides, if they do get into the playoffs as they should, Fat Face will probably be the reason they don't win once they do.

Other than Dallas they haven't played anyone remotely intimidating this year, especially when you're 3rd overall against the pass holding opponents under 200ypg. And as it stands right now, the only scary games for them going forward are the two Denver games and Indianapolis.

So far they have beat up on the NFC (L)east and caught the titans with Fitzpatrick at QB. They haven't beaten a single team that currently has a winning record.
With the way their schedule is, they could be 9-0 heading into that week 11 game against Denver

they tell alot. that game was close all the way to the 4th. they make it seem like the Rauders got blowed out. Alex was getting knocked on his ass. the chiefs are not an excellent team.

That Chiefs front 7 is GOOD and the Raiders O basically had no chance with their 3rd string O-line in there. They were actually moving the ball decently when Gurode and Pashos (never thought those guys would be NFL relevant in 2013) were playing but they were under siege once those guys went down. The Raiders D is looking better every week though it'd be nice if their 1st round pick made a few more plays on the ball.
I'd be more worried about Pryor regressing but it sounds like he took his lumps pretty well.

This is the first game that's gone really sideways for him this season and you always worry about that for a young player but I think he handled it about as well as you could given the circumstance. Just happy he escaped without injury, that Houston/Hali tandem is fierce rushing the passer.

it ain't pretty. however they do a bit of everything. can run, strong defense, take aways and just play smart period.
they don't beat themselves. Andy Reid is the right coach for Alex Smith and they are the right team at the right time IMO they are a cross of both conferences and if they get by Denver then who is going to beat them do tell me?
they can score, play low ball and also got a strong special teams game. i mean they got all the bases covered IMO. it ain't pretty however they do things the right way period.
