2244715, #BradleyMarquez. who you got?
Posted by abstractionism, Sat Oct-12-13 11:44 AM
the battle of the pacquiao-defeaters is tonight! who's taking the belt?
2244716, Put me down Marquez
Posted by Poorspellir, Sat Oct-12-13 11:46 AM
Should be a pretty competitive fight, just think the clean counters he lands are gonna carry him through a few close rounds en route to a decision victory.
2244728, Tim Dog

2244800, ^^^^ Roid JMM is something fierce, he's on that super shredder

Yeah, thats the issue...straight up I would go with Bradley, but it's clear that JMM is on that juice, so gotta roll with newly cut/diesel 40 year old...lol...sad really...anyway, carry on....
2244796, JMM by late stoppage round 9 or 10

Will outpoint Bradley. If a slugfest happens Marquez will rack up rounds but I don't expect Bradley to be knocked out.

Marquez 8 rounds
Bradley 4 rounds.
2245011, "he's solid" = idk what to do

A lot of close rounds.
2245030, Yeah, they might make up for that Pacquiao decision tonight.
Posted by BlassFemur, Sat Oct-12-13 10:46 PM
2245032, Bradley better get them hands up though. He's getting cocky out there.

2245034, JMM gave it to him in that rd

2245044, uh-oh, that hook is going to get the W
Posted by FILF, Sat Oct-12-13 11:08 PM
2245046, Underestimated Bradley tonight
Posted by Poorspellir, Sat Oct-12-13 11:10 PM
Props to the guy, he fought a great fight.
2245051, JMM is not that impressive when he fights against counter-punchers
Posted by FILF, Sat Oct-12-13 11:13 PM
The jab basically won the fight for Bradley....he learned his lesson in the Provodnikov fight & wasn't messing around tonight.
2245053, ditto
Posted by Lach, Sat Oct-12-13 11:16 PM
2245054, I had Marquez 115-113. Bradley was killin him until the 7th then ran
Posted by Radio Rahim, Sat Oct-12-13 11:17 PM
edit: not killin him but was clearly in the lead. If he would have kept up that pace/confidence/work rate he'd have bagged a few more rds on my card.

Disappointed in Bradleys last 5 rounds.
2245057, Somebodies 0 got to go next September
Posted by Ceej, Sat Oct-12-13 11:22 PM
2245061, That was about how I'd thought it'd go. Can TB get a fight w/ Floyd?
Posted by icecold21, Sat Oct-12-13 11:30 PM
At this point, it may be the most intriguing match up for him.
It's at least better than fighting Kahn.

I could easily see a TB-PBF fight in the spring and finally a Floyd-Pac fight in the fall.

Manny is going to make a big comeback starting with Rios.

I have no doubt JMM will be back, he ain't going out like that. He hasn't fallen off yet, either.
2245085, Umm Floyd bringin the whole gate. Bradley would get TAXED.
Posted by Radio Rahim, Sat Oct-12-13 11:57 PM
If i was floyd i'd charge Bradley to fight me.
2245095, There aren't very many good options out there
Posted by icecold21, Sun Oct-13-13 12:16 AM
Bradley would at least be a bigger draw than Guerrero. He would get his ass handed to him but he is a top p4p contender and has some name recognition.

I'd personally rather see Danny Garcia, which maybe could happen, but I'm not sure he's ready or would be much of a draw at this point. Broner ain't ready yet and hasn't proven much anyway. Provodnikov would be interesting depending on what he does against Alvarado. GGG would be great but would never happen. Point is Bradley is one of the bigger names out there at this point and would be another easy W for Floyd.
2245090, That shyt would be a snoozer
Posted by FILF, Sun Oct-13-13 12:05 AM
If Tim's fight plan is the same as the one against JMM then they would both get on their bikes & throw nothing but jabs unless Tim has one of those moments where he decides to brawl. If the fight unfolds in that manner then Floyd's hand speed/elusiveness would give him a decision victory b/c he's going to land more & get hit the least.
2245132, ^^^hasnt watched a Floyd fight in like 5 years
Posted by the_time_is_when_god...lounge, Sun Oct-13-13 08:51 AM
2245245, There isn't much Floyd could do if Bradley implement to jab/run policy
Posted by FILF, Sun Oct-13-13 01:34 PM
Except beat him to the the punch......probably will end up like the Clottey/Pac bout. There is no way Bradley's melon head is getting Ko'd
2245149, 2013 Floyd will walk down and KO Tim.
Posted by BlassFemur, Sun Oct-13-13 10:01 AM
especially since everyone knows he has no real power.
2245158, provodnikov and manny couldn't KO bradley but floyd would?
Posted by southphillyman, Sun Oct-13-13 10:35 AM
like damn can dude get ANY RESPECT?
manny and floyd might be the only ppl under 154 who could beat tim bradley right now
and i'm not sure anybody could knock him out
2245822, LOL. Floyd has never KOd a welterweight. Ever...
Posted by thebadnegro, Mon Oct-14-13 01:46 AM
unless u wanna count the Ortiz thing.

but he's gonna walk Bradley down and KO him? Bradley must not have that Baldomir/Zab Judah-like iron chin :/
2245235, unless Bradley's contract with Top Rank is expiring...
Posted by daskap, Sun Oct-13-13 01:06 PM
then no, that fight won't happen.
2245425, damn are those the cats Floyds not doing biz with?
Posted by QBoogie, Sun Oct-13-13 04:09 PM
2245825, I don't see no threats to Kieth Thurman @ 147 right now,
Posted by thebadnegro, Mon Oct-14-13 02:00 AM
let alone Floyd.

there aren't many fights i'd rather NOT see than Floyd/TB.
after TB/JMM, i believe Floyd/TB would do well under 1 million PPV buys.

Garcia, a Cotto rematch... anythings better than this fight^^.
2245848, The narrative on Bradley is finally starting to change
Posted by Lightfoot, Mon Oct-14-13 08:55 AM
The common refrain I heard about Bradley for years was that he does nothing great, but does everything well and simply perseveres based on his sheer willpower.

That's not at all true. And I was happy to hear Kellerman in particular start to shift that narrative as Bradley outboxed one of the greatest boxers of our generation. Bradley's determination is obviously a factor in his success, but it's not any greater than that of Marquez, who is almost pathologically competitive.

Bradley beat Marquez--and has become a top 5-10 P4P fighter--based mostly on two things, in my opinion:

1) exceptional ring smarts (with occasional pride-driven lapses--see his fights with Holt and especially Provodnikov). Bradley knows how to use his jab, his lead right, his lateral movement, etc. to give himself the advantage for as many moments of the fight as possible.

2) more importantly, freakishly good reflexes. I've pointed this out before, but almost everyone who loses to Bradley (excluding those who won't admit they lost) acknowledges how hard it is to find him. And that is true--when Bradley is being defensive minded, he is always right in front of you and is still damn near impossible to hit.

I'm not saying Bradley is Sweet Pea, but he's the closest thing we have to Sweet Pea in this generation of fighters (and Sweet Pea had his own lapses e.g. his fight against Roger Mayweather). His elusiveness is unreal, and that more than anything else has been his ticket.
2245852, very, very, very good points.

Sweet Pea used to pull a Houdini when he was pinned against the ropes meanwhile Tim would try to punch his way out of those situation. Bradley is pretty elusive in the middle of the ring b/c of his head movement & has an elite stamina/chin.
2246219, you're basing that off 1 bradley fight. no
