The problem with Coach Reid was that his MO was essentially forcing certain play-calls regardless of what the defense was giving us. With Chip, and he has said this all along, it's all about understanding what the defense is doing and then making the right decision. If the defense refuses to crash their ends and have their 2nd line drop, you continue to hand the ball off until they decide to commit. You are essentially staying a step ahead of the defense because they are having to adjust to you.
