get there at 9:30 or 10. bring a six pack or a flask. share with whoever is line around you. make a friend. send someone to pick up coffee about a 10 minute block away.

tell them you're from out of town, sometimes they give a taste of the other meats so you can try it. but the brisket, as with everywhere, is king. it really does ruin any other brisket, even in austin. so fucking good.
