you make that trade. noah ain't like that and jimmy butler is SUCH A MASSIVE CYSE!!!

you get LA in pick and rolls with rose...and booz? both can clear the lane for rose by stickin 15-18 footers ALL DAY. what they have NOW isn't good enough.

the only reason this ain't happen is because fans and media love these two dudes.

U too homie....Eat some Q for your boy...

And now that the Bulls got our Dukie quota, please think of a way we can trade Boozer for LA....
2205925, portland offered you a fair trade...and rose wants LA.
Posted by Basaglia, Thu Jul-04-13 11:57 AM
don't be petty and bring booz in it. your front office fucked that up.

don't pine for LA skills when noah throwing up them rotating ass planets at the fuckin rim in the playoffs next year, missing crucial open looks.

No pettiness homie....But yeah...that's not a smart trade...If they wanted Deng or Boozer I would be down...Hell...I would move Butler and Boozer for LA....

>don't pine for LA skills when noah throwing up them rotating
>ass planets at the fuckin rim in the playoffs next year,
>missing crucials open looks.

Don't get it twisted...I WANT LA....But to me he only works with a strong defensive center....

Basically, Noah is our only interior defense....We lose him and u have a lay-up drill....Plus, LA does NOT want to play center....And if he did, could you imagine how soft defensively we would be with LA at the 5 and Boozer at the 4?

Noah is our best defending BIG and best interior passer...Defending BIGS in the East matter when you have to go against Indy and Miami (we need that toughness against Bron and them)....

If they want Butler and Boozer, I'm down....

This startling lineup....

Noah
LA
Deng
*fill in with 3 point shooting 2*...
Rose

Would scare any team....
2205930, Aldridge and Booz together on D though?
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Thu Jul-04-13 12:19 PM
Offensively, yes, major upgrade. Defensively? Big time downgrade, Noah is key to what the Bulls are about.

Is there an echo chamber in this bitch?....lol....True...

This is why I don't want Basa to be my GM....We would score 100 points a game...But give up 105.....

The crazy part is LA would be PERFECT for the Bulls....He would be a great compliment to Noah....

2206079, yeah, because if i were GM, i'd trade rose the MOMENT he dunked again
Posted by Basaglia, Thu Jul-04-13 09:49 PM
some team would give a king's ransom for that nigga and i'd cake off the next couple of drafts and get some nice young vets. and THEN, we'd actually be in REAL contention...not that bullshit ass "we hope lebron tweaks his ankle or knee" contention.

Wow...I thought u were done with your Rose crusade.....And oldie, but goodie.....

2206086, "done" to you means saying he's a title calibur franchise player
Posted by Basaglia, Thu Jul-04-13 10:35 PM
and better than russy...

i've never copped to those things, because i don't believe them. i've admitted he's better than i thought he was and he was worthy of the MVP award (though I still think lebron had a better year).

Man...I just want my team to get a trophy...I'm so far from the agendas it's not even funny....I got real concerns like whether or not Rose will be able to come back from such a serious injury....

Russy, Rose, point guard wars...There all yours homie....

I was initially responding your LA/Noah OP...

I had no idea it would all come back to Rose...Had little reason to think so considering it makes little sense....Let the kid come back from this injury first, homie...Let him cook...Then u can continue your Russy>>>Rose campaign...
2206078, all i read was: noah makes up for our shitty perimeter defense
Posted by Basaglia, Thu Jul-04-13 09:47 PM

because on the low...the bulls have terrible perimeter defense.

And LA would help our perimeter defense? ....lol

2206089, no...holding your guards accountable would help it.
Posted by Basaglia, Thu Jul-04-13 10:48 PM
not depending on noah to "save" you would help it.

the current model of noah as the last line of defense and a terrible offensive threat hasn't resulted in any titles. and it never will. even if lebron's ankle breaks the round before. you won't beat any team coming out the west.
2206044, few things...
Posted by FromTheGo, Thu Jul-04-13 04:02 PM
LA is damn good, but he is basically a better version of Boozer with better finesse and dunking.

Why would we give up our best interior and post defender as well as our best post passer in Noah especially when we have Mirotic coming?

The next 2 years in Chicago will be wonderful.

2206087, noah and and butler for a dude that doesn't impact W's? FOH
Posted by Ill Jux, Thu Jul-04-13 10:44 PM
noah is a better player than lamarcus and then these niggers want to add butler? chicago did the right thing
2206090, okay...noah better than aldridge. let's just leave it there.

2206095, aldrige softer than 2 ply cottonelle, please with that dude

if the bulls made that trade they would regress
2206148, RE: Bulls fanbase and media still affecting front office decisions...
Posted by Benedict the Moor, Fri Jul-05-13 08:19 AM
I'm one of the few people who would actually consider this trade. Though it's tough because you simply can't have Boozer playing center and we'd have a glut @ PF.

The Bulls essentially fucked up trading Asik as I would have to imagine if we still had him, this trade would have already happened.

If it's between trading Jimmy and the Charlotte pick, it's Jimmy all day but we'd have to get back Wes Matthews and a center (Leonard?) in the process. Either that or see what Houston wants to do w/ Asik and if there's an inkling we can get him back, shove Taj @ them and a few 2nd rounders.

Bulls fans love overrating role players (Noah) this is nothing new.. Bottom line: pairing Aldridge w/ Rose gives Chicago a much coveted 2nd option. But again, a Thibadeau led team isn't going into the season w/ Boozer starting @ center, and Aldridge won't play center so they would have to get extremely creative to make this happen. Also, Boozer would definitely be amnestied (he's not coming off the bench) so you can forget that angle.

I think Chicago is holding out to see if Portland breaks and takes a lesser offer. Portland has no leverage @ the moment which is good for the Bulls. I'm curious to see how this plays out.
2206168, Funny, I never saw Noah as a role player.
Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Fri Jul-05-13 09:16 AM
He is, by the definition, a role player.
Which is essentially a player with a special skill.

But I guess when coupled with Thibs defensive schemes, Noah's best attributes get magnified, which always made him seem more than just a role player. I see him more as the captain and anchor of the defense.
2206182, RE: Funny, I never saw Noah as a role player.
Posted by Benedict the Moor, Fri Jul-05-13 10:00 AM
the other thing people don't consider is how injury-prone our players can be. noah, in particular, tends to get injured at least once per season, and it's usually right around february-march. so he's either playing himself back into shape in April, or playing through injuries.

aldridge, on the other hand, has been relatively healthy his entire career.

clearly this deal, as is, will not happen. nothing will happpen unless the Bulls can solidify a starting-caliber center next to Aldridge.
2206169, Ill move deng and some other pieces but jimmy AND joe??
Posted by JAESCOTT777, Fri Jul-05-13 09:27 AM

Posted by LA2Philly, Fri Jul-05-13 09:51 AM
Why would Chicago deal their best perimeter defender (in a league full of good wings) and defensive anchor/best rebounder for a player in LA who def adds some offensive versatility but hardly plays to his size on the defensive end...esp when you have an undersized 4 in Boozer.
2206184, why are ppl in here talking as if they made this trade they couldn't
Posted by southphillyman, Fri Jul-05-13 10:02 AM
make any other moves after it
lol
if u trade noah and butler they still have other assets they can move to address any deficiencies (deng, boozer, taj)
they may not get back someone as good as noah but they probably don't have to either
and they drafted another potential perimeter defender
butler is a cool specialist and all but he isn't the type of player that should block the acquisition of a AS caliber player

U finally found someone to play with, Basa...lol
2206188, Excellent rebounding, high work rate, def anchors are so easy to find
Posted by LA2Philly, Fri Jul-05-13 10:10 AM
And Butler is only coming into his third year. Dude is anything but a finished product offensively and showed some marked signs of improvement on that end to complement his stellar defense. They drafted a 'potential' wing defender, Butler is already a proven commodity in that regard. I don't see Thibs signing off on this deal, ever.

As far as assets...no one wants the Boozer contract and why would they deal a two way player in Deng whom they value as an offensive outlet and solid perimeter defender as well.

Making moves just to make moves when it doesn't fit into your team/coaching philosophy doesn't make much sense either.

2206190, oh the tyson chandler argument lol

glorified role players man
and like i said you don't even need someone as good as noah really, just some one adequate
thibs had perkins looking like a defensive stopper. his system will work with anyone semi competent in there
you give up a injury prone hustle big man and overhyped wing defender (his defensive rating isn't even that good) for a big man that can give u 20 and 9 in an "underachieving" year
yall niggas minds are made up tho

Like I said, if we still had Asik, I would not be as spooked about this deal....

But let's chill on all the hyperbole shit...We have to see how this team will work out with the new players and Rose coming back from a serious injury...it's not time to swing for the fences yet...One more year together with everyone healthy should be the test....Besides...We are getting one of the best current Euro players after this season (Mirotic) who is being viewed as a stretch 4...

The smart money will be to play this whole thing out until after this season...

Because Boozer is not an asset...And Deng's trade value has gone down after almost dying in the hospital....(the best we had for Deng on the table this year was Cleveland's pick in a weak draft and a few odd ends)

For lack of a better word, it's a stupid trade idea....LA is a good player...But he doesn't give the Bulls what Noah gives them...Basically, he's a poor man's KG (defensively, passing wise, heart of the team and all that cliche shit...)...

On the real, if we still had Asik, he would have been in any trade proposal and could have been def. used to lure LA here...Or worst case scenario you keep Asik and trade Noah for dog ass offensive PF....

But as is? No u don't trade your defensive anchor and best rebounder for a finesse player...It's NBA 101.....You pair LA with Noah.....

Man...cut it out with this bullshit....lol

I would have had driven Deng to the plane so fast for Kobe it wouldn't even had been funny....(BTW, the only reason that trade didn't happen is because Kobe stipulated that he would only come to the Bulls if Deng was on the team....So yeah...this is more silly shit....)

When Rose talks of getting better, he's not talking about gutting our defense...He's talking about getting a perimeter player that can help him out on the scoring duties in a more consistent way...In other words, Deng was the perfect trading asset for such a deal until dude battled a very serious illness....

Like I said, patience South Beach Man....We can start going for broke after this season...First we have to see Butler's continued growth and whether or not Rose will even be Rose again...If we do make a move this season, u move Deng if he shows no serious effects from his hospital stay by the trading deadline...If such a deal can be made for an offensive minded shooting guard u do it then...

They're first to say, "Rose needs help. He can't do it by himself."

They get an offer that provides him help and they don't want it.

Yet they want to make sideways moves on some, "If we just get O.J. Mayo we'll be straight."

That's not the right offer, Billy...it's a short-sighted offer....Most Bulls fans were down to trade Deng for the "Rose needs help" trade...If we trade Noah we have to get some form of defense/rebounding back...We want our team to get better...But not with stupid moves...
2206721, If they include McCullom and Leonard
Posted by auragin_boi, Fri Jul-05-13 11:33 PM
And take Taj instead of Jimmy, our 2015 1st rounder and the CHA pick...I'd do it.

LA don't play enough D, hasn't done a damn thing as a pro (winning-wise) and creates redundancy with Booz.

We can't trade Booz (well it's unlikely, if Joe Johnson can be moved, we could prolly find a spot for Booz but we'd have to take on a bad contract and diminished assets).

I wonder if Phx would take him for Scola, Frye and Goodwin.

I could work with:
Rose/McCullom
Jimmy/Kirk/Goodwin
Deng/Snell
LA/Frye
Leonard/Scola

Our interior D would suffer some but our O would improve drastically. Plus Leonard has enough of a skillset to be a defensive anchor. We could always work to get a better defensive anchor if necessary.

Problem here is...Por wouldn't give me the package I want.

LA for Noah and Jimmy is too much. They'd need to sweeten the deal.
