the professional league and the federation initially were working together to try and get them to move their headquarters to France, so that they would be submitted to the same tax rules...

but then Le Graet (the president of the federation) supposedly decided to wing it and told them all could be settled for a mere 200M euros. That leaked out, so now he's saying Monaco was actually behind that proposal...not sure who to believe, but in any case, the league is pissed off because they likely would not see much of that money AND I'm guessing it's peanuts compared to what Monaco will save in taxes if the new French tax rules stay, anyway.

I don't see it ending with them still in second division, though.
