2180219, Young Legs vs. Old man tricks: Spurs/Dubs V
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 08:39 PM
-Pop: "If Golden State is going to score 84 points again tonight, I'll be a happy man." Same w/ Barnes shooting 26 shots.

-Spurs shot so poorly in Game 4, it was historically bad — 35. 5 percent from the floor, 25.9 percent on 3s, 56 percent on free throws. For reference, the Spurs only had one other game where they shot worse in the 28 seasons charted by BasketballReference.com.

-Curry feeling much better, Top5 not bothered by calf
2180224, Duncan looking good early.
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 08:46 PM
2180229, Not after Bogut beats him down the floor....lol
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 08:53 PM
2180230, shitty call too.
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 08:54 PM
2180226, Going forward..lets say years. if they keep the same team.
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 08:49 PM
how good can Golden St. be?
2180234, Bogut is the difference maker & he has fragile ankles
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 08:56 PM
So, basically their future depends on 2 fragile ankles of 2 core players: Curry/Bogut
2180231, Tim missing the open jumpers.......not a good sign
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 08:54 PM
2180235, same w/ the offensive rebounds
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 08:58 PM
2180238, Kawhi is playing aggressive.....finally, punish that mice
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:01 PM
2180243, yall just hot right now.
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 09:07 PM
2180242, Jarrett Jack's moves are predictable as hell
Posted by Beezo, Tue May-14-13 09:07 PM
Always can tell when he is about to turn it over.
2180244, Same w/ the keep the dribble alive & pull-up
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:08 PM
2180249, Spurs in NBA Jam mode right now
Posted by Dstl1, Tue May-14-13 09:10 PM
.
2180253, Co-Jo on that Norris Cole steeze
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:14 PM
2180251, So, basically the Dubs are carrying over their offense from GM 4
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:12 PM
Jack/Barnes carrying them, everyone else struggling
2180256, J.J. is a frustrating ass player to watch.
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 09:17 PM
2180278, ^^^^^^^^^^^
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 09:36 PM
2180259, Did everyone already buy up all the Harrison Barnes stock?
Posted by Below The Mason Dixon, Tue May-14-13 09:21 PM
dude looks like a young Artest out there.
2180260, man barnes is growing up right before our eyes
Posted by southphillyman, Tue May-14-13 09:21 PM
2180262, Whenever Splitter is in the game Barnes is going to the hole
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:23 PM
2180261, Barnes is killing these bums
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:22 PM
2180263, mark jackson's pep talk game is tight
Posted by bshelly, Tue May-14-13 09:25 PM

2180265, Rev. Jackson

2180266, Yea
Posted by Beezo, Tue May-14-13 09:27 PM

2180267, Top5 over dribbling ........Pop should get in his ass
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:27 PM
2180269, Might be time to put T-Mac on Barnes it ain't like Bonner is doing much
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:29 PM
2180270, killing me that i can't watch this right now
Posted by Amritsar, Tue May-14-13 09:29 PM
stuck at the office ..be back later with thoughts
2180271, You can just stream it
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:30 PM
2180276, Manu needs to quit throwing those fancy passes
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:34 PM
2180279, Need to take the air out of them in the next 2.5 mins
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:39 PM
2180287, uuuuhhhh,,,,,,not like that
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:44 PM
The Spurs can't get any easy shots playing one-on-one against there youngins. I guess Manu/Tony haven't received the memo.
2180289, Green/Kawhi stepping up, Splitter/Manu getting outplayed by Jefferson
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 09:47 PM
2180290, We're in a decent position
Posted by mrhood75, Tue May-14-13 09:47 PM
Curry and Thompson aren't hitting, yet we're only down three. Front court been holding us down, both offensively and defensively. Curry has one of his 3rd quarter tears, and this gets pretty interesting.
2180294, Yea, im still pretty calm
Posted by DolphinTeef, Tue May-14-13 09:56 PM
We just need Thompson and Curry to heat to to lukewarm at least.

Focus on D is the key. Keep T5T out of the paint and make Duncan work for it a bit.

Naturally, Green and Leonard gon' cook
2180295, yea curry shooting 30% and Klay shooting 16% and only down 3
Posted by southphillyman, Tue May-14-13 09:59 PM
getting carried right now by barnes and jack
but spurs will pull away if those two continue to bricksquad
2180300, The Dubs have better role player than the Spurs & Tim is laying bricks
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:10 PM
2180293, Shaq sees it. Duncan running on fumes
Posted by DolphinTeef, Tue May-14-13 09:51 PM
2180301, Dude is 37.....about time he flames out
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:10 PM
2180298, Tiny Tim
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:07 PM
2180307, Was CWebb just throwing shade at Rose?
Posted by Ryan M, Tue May-14-13 10:13 PM
2180310, Low IQ w/ those high dribbles
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:16 PM
2180315, Both teams aren't giving up any easy shots whatsoever
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:20 PM
2180325, ....I can't explain how they're both shooting around 50%
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:25 PM
2180321, Manu still can't make free-throws...the original JR Smith
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:22 PM
2180330, Splitter has the ugliest post-game in the league
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:28 PM
2180341, Spice pls...
Posted by DolphinTeef, Tue May-14-13 10:36 PM
:(
2180343, These old guys still have it...
Posted by Ryan M, Tue May-14-13 10:39 PM
But I still think this goes 7 and Memphis beats whoever wins.
2180347, How long do you expect Jack & Barnes to carry the team?
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:42 PM
If the Dubs lose today, it going to be a wrap in Oakland.
2180351, Kawhi needs to be checking Barnes.
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:47 PM
Green doesn't have the size to match-up w/ him
2180354, The difference b/w Gm 4 & 5: Simple, the Spurs made the open shots
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:55 PM
Mark Jackson's zone has finally been busted, Top5 is going to live in the paint in Gm 6 otherwise, it going to rain 3s in Oakland if they keep deploying the zone.
2180355, that motherfucker ginobli be ballin gat dammit
Posted by LAbeathustla, Tue May-14-13 10:55 PM
2180359, Nah, Danny Green is the Player of the Game
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:57 PM
He did it on both ends of the floor, he has been a true revelation in this series after he pooped his pants against OKC.
2180375, ...let's make it Co-Player of the Game along w/ Kawhi
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 11:11 PM
2180358, pivotal game 5 and the warriors backcourt shit the bed
Posted by southphillyman, Tue May-14-13 10:56 PM
barnes and jack balled
2180361, You have to give Kawhi & Green their dues
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:58 PM
They wouldn't let them breath let alone get an open look
2180364, Victory Cigar: T-Mac
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 10:59 PM
2180370, He looks like a live body to me......
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 11:07 PM
2180863, wtf you replied to yourself here
Posted by Ryan M, Wed May-15-13 05:03 PM
2180371, *THUD* brothers
Posted by guru0509, Tue May-14-13 11:08 PM
although Harrison Barnes remembered there was a game today

Parker cut those boys up good though, damn. He looked like the Top 5 Tony from years back.

Even Duncan came out with a little more spring in his step...
2180374, Good overall effort for the Spurs. I still would have liked to have seen
Posted by Mignight Maruder, Tue May-14-13 11:10 PM
a better offensive performance by Duncan. It's especially disconcerting considering the fact that Splitter is complete doo-doo. Duncan needs to snap himself out of his recent slump on offense.

Parker was magnificent and so was Green. Kawhi had another impressive game on both sides of the ball. As I said before, these guys just have to hit the open shots. They hit the open shots again Thursday and its a wrap.
2180385, The shooter are making shots, so it should loosen up inside for Tim
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 11:17 PM
He has been reduced to a jump-shooter w/ Mark Jackson clogging the paint w/ the 4 man camping in the paint, so he hasn't been able to take advantage of Bogut's slow feet & drive on him.
2180377, Eh, wasn't our night tonight
Posted by mrhood75, Tue May-14-13 11:13 PM
Spurs were due for a really good game, and got one. Motherfuckas came to play. Couldn't stop Parker at all, which was annoying. I'm more annoyed about the lousy guard play. Spice and Klay definitely gotta step it up in Game 6.

Still not out of reach, but this definitely got like 10 times harder.
2180382, i didnt see tonights game but overall have to like Ws chance in gm6
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Tue May-14-13 11:16 PM
winning both is a challenge but i mean you get that first win and it seems infinitely easier. it'll also say a lot about curry's condition, too, of course.
2180389, Unless either Kawhi/Green get in foul trouble I don't see any adjustments
Posted by FILF, Tue May-14-13 11:21 PM
Tim/Manu still struggled from the floor, so it's not like the Spurs played their best game offensively.
2180394, Goddamn Klay has been pretty useless
Posted by DolphinTeef, Tue May-14-13 11:38 PM

i miss Rush :(

2180395, C'mon son, that's just blatant hate.
Posted by mrhood75, Tue May-14-13 11:44 PM
Klay's been shaky that past couple of games, but NO ONE misses Rush.

Klay will be fine in the long run. He'll, might even bounce back next game.
2180530, i pray you are right but im still not sold on Klay
Posted by DolphinTeef, Wed May-15-13 10:38 AM
*im being emo though*
2180396, Top5 is running him rugged on the defensive end
Posted by FILF, Wed May-15-13 12:01 AM
It's just like when Jason Terry said: "Lebron can't guard me for seven games"
2180566, Rush?!? U could have Kareem, Brandon & JaRon playing 7-on-5 vs the Spurs
Posted by Bombastic, Wed May-15-13 11:13 AM
And you'd prolly be in the same position you are right today.
2180913, Rush is a good defender
Posted by DolphinTeef, Wed May-15-13 05:52 PM
Better than Klay at season's start. But maybe they are equal now.

was improving as a scorer.

I miss him in a sense that he would have been good to bring in for:

1. Game one after Klay fouled out
2. When Klay is laying bricks, just to mix it up.

He can hit the 3 but not as well as Klay of course.
2180402, Only got to see 2nd half but...
Posted by Ownzdacourt, Wed May-15-13 01:42 AM
-Liked what I saw from Spurs offense. Not afraid to shoot. 10 for 21 3pointers. You are going to win at home if you shoot that %.

-Green played excellent. Great defense, hustle, has a little more jump to him this round. Putbacks, fast break slams, he is adding to his usual limited offense game.

-Diaw is a great catalyst to the Spurs when he is on the floor. It's no suprise, the last few games he has played, the spurs have played better against the Warriors.

-Parker was aggresive, great to see, hopefully he can still power through when we know he is not at 100% health.

Spurs need to close out in game 6... don't want to get into a game 7 with a team that can get hot from the arc. And also need to rest before a grind/physical series with MEM
2180406, Good things you missed Bonner getting abused by Barnes
Posted by FILF, Wed May-15-13 02:34 AM
Pop did the right thing benching both Matt & Gary...might be time to give Matt's minutes to T-Mac he has the size & foot speed to match-up w/ Barnes since Kawhi/Danny are busy checking the Splash Bros (Danny just doesn't have the size anyways from what I saw). Co-Jo also gave the team a spark when Tony was resting. Just need to keep this up & Gm 6 should be smooth sailing when Tim/Manu join the party.
2180410, Spurs hit the open shots they were missing in the last few games
Posted by Amritsar, Wed May-15-13 03:52 AM
Pop did a damn good job exploiting Curry's injured ankle when he was on defense

at this point i'm not sure i want us to advance .... Curry playing every other day on that ankle,Bogut re-injured his ankle this game, Lee coming in risking a potential re-injury

limping into a series with Memphis would not be a good look

been a great year, lots to look forward to in seasons to come

as I predicted earlier, Spurs in 6
2180468, Every once in a while I realize how reactionary mfers like

Mike and Mike are to bball games. These cats have jumped ship so many times...just last week they were on some "GS to the Finals" stuff. Now it's memph vs heat, set in stone. Those f'ers know football and baseball, everything else they need crib sheets on.

GS is a YOUNG team with injuries, that mix not gonna take you to the finals. No disrespect to the W's, they have showed me some real sh__. They have a bright future. Hope to see them take the Pacific crown from LA in the future.
2180841, anyone on talk radio should be disregarded completely
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Wed May-15-13 04:43 PM
i listened to 15 minutes of the colin cowherd show yesterday and driving into the center divider never looked so good.

what they should be doing is scheduling A LOT OF GUESTS. get people who KNOW what they are talking about on the show talking about it. beat writers, scouts, assistant coaches ... all these people pretty much LEAP at the chance to do a spot.
2180472, Spurs flashed that championship pedigree
