Every undersized skill player is going to get the Tavon Austin comp in 2014. Thomas might be faster in a line, he's nowhere close in his lateral movements. He needs big lanes between the tackles, otherwise he pecks around and bails out to find the sideline. If he gets a seam he's gone, but Austin was better at creating his own space.
Fumbling 10 times in the last two seasons (without being the primary ball-carrier) is also worrying, mostly because he'll cough it up from the softest contact. I think he's a much better receiver than running back right now, so we'll see how he does as the main guy.
