there is no way what they were doing in games 2 and 3 were a planned attack. sometimes they just carried the puck in and played one on four, not on one entry, but on three or four in a row.

they have needed a point presence for a while. i guess they expected that from richards and i have to admit he did a good job of it in dallas and tampa at times, too.

overall, i think the idea that you can win a stanley cup through attrition is just not working right now. what team has won that way? sure, you've got to be physical and you want to wear the other team down, but you can't be so narrowly focused. i think that's limited them and limited st louis also. the blues have made some adjustments but the bottom line is that they are still too young overall. the rangers are a veteran group, they aren't getting any better.
