2280051, Carmelo's work is done. Jabari's is beginning. Posted by Orbit_Established, Mon Dec-23-13 01:23 PM
Carmelo retires today, he's one of the best scorers of his generation, won far more than he lost, won a scoring title in an era when 3/5 best wings ever played against him and is the most decorated Olypian ever (until 2016, when Lebron will eclipse him).
Unlike Iverson, he wasn't fired and demoted to playing in Turkish dungeons. He'll end his career a hobbly situational scorer for someone, more than likely, age accelerated by having to play power forward for a bum ass team.
As a New Yorker, he gave us a scorer champion for the first time in forever, and carried a team of bums to relevancy for the first time in OVER a decade.
He did his part and its been a pleasure.
If Jabari gets to *half* of that, he will be worth a top 3 pick and will have a wonderful career.
I expect Jabari to get that, because Jabari is Carmelo Jr.
Kick, scream and cry all you want.
its true.
