2156025, No NBA player will average 20 and 10 for the first time in history

http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/03/30/warner-nba-will-be-without-a-20-10-big-man-for-first-time/

2156028, my boy was talking about that yesterday.
Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Apr-01-13 01:20 PM
he HATES Dwight Howard. straight up HATES him, to the level I haven't heard him describe since he first started talking about John Cena (lol) 10 years ago. he even brought up the "Cena" hate when discussing him.

his chief reason is that, he's dominant on the defensive side, but is (his words) some bullshit offensively. he has no offensive moves.

I thought of that when I read this article.
2156032, I hate Howard for many of the same reasons, however he wasn't
Posted by Bombastic, Mon Apr-01-13 01:25 PM
the first guy I thought of for this one since I knew his broke HGH-He-Man-Action-Figure-Ass was averaging like 15/16 all year.

The first person I thought of was actually Blake Griffin, because as well as the Clippers' season has gone he really hasn't beasted the way folks thought he would.
2156130, this shit is ALL griffin
Posted by rob, Mon Apr-01-13 04:21 PM
yeah love woulda had it. demarcus will get there if he ever really matures...bron or durant could do 20/10 if they wanted. that's about all i see.

those others....griffin or aldridge. their JOBS are fucking best in the league pfs and being 20/10. fuck dwight, al jeff, and josh smith too.
2156152, yeah, Blake averages 20/10 for his career, yet at age 24 coming up short
Posted by Bombastic, Mon Apr-01-13 04:44 PM
for shame.
2156155, blake is all empty stats and commercials and can't even get that right
Posted by rob, Mon Apr-01-13 04:50 PM
so yeah. fuck this age 24 shit. he's been in his prime.
2156167, Blakes minutes are WAY down
Posted by ErnestLee, Mon Apr-01-13 05:16 PM
38/g rookie year, 36 last yr, 32.6 this year. His numbers are still down a bit per 36, but it's not as bad as it seems.
2156197, BYNUM
Posted by Guinness, Mon Apr-01-13 05:49 PM
2156254, why start now
Posted by Ryan M, Mon Apr-01-13 07:56 PM
2156267, i'm all in on bynum.
Posted by Guinness, Mon Apr-01-13 08:20 PM
at least he guarantees the sixers are either very good or terrible. can't deal with josh smith and another season of mediocrity.

but mostly i was just pointing out that this year was a statistical anomaly and people shouldn't get all weird about it. howard, love, griffin and bynum are all guys who normally would have put up 20/10 in their current situations (without injuries or griffin's low minutes). plus there's a bunch of dudes like cousins, jefferson, lee and duncan who are really close, not to mention pau, bosh, z-bo and boozer who have done similar numbers in the past.
2156395, only 20s & 10s Bynum putting up involve g-strings at Delilah's

2156061, That John Cena line cracked me up.
Posted by BennyTenStack, Mon Apr-01-13 02:15 PM
I love wrestling fans that take it that serious lol.
2156071, Love woulda did it
Posted by the_time_is_when_god...lounge, Mon Apr-01-13 02:34 PM
2156082, Yeah, consider Love's injuries and Dwight's back/team...
Posted by Frank Longo, Mon Apr-01-13 02:58 PM
... I don't put an insane amount of weight into this. It's pretty fluky.

That having been said, comparing the names of the current 20/10 types (Howard, Griffin, Randolph, Love) vs. those of the past does say something about the state of the big man in the guard-oriented NBA of today.
2156128, RE: Yeah, consider Love's injuries and Dwight's back/team...

plus he hookin up wit Ky Ky in 2.
2156208, That's not what we're talking about here
Posted by CherNic, Mon Apr-01-13 06:08 PM
2156248, Thats what im talkin bout tho
Posted by Radio Rahim, Mon Apr-01-13 07:39 PM
2156100, cuz could have.
Posted by Guinness, Mon Apr-01-13 03:31 PM
but he's only playing 31 minutes a game.
2156103, he's crazy
Posted by Basaglia, Mon Apr-01-13 03:39 PM
2156109, shit, he's also not that good.
Posted by Guinness, Mon Apr-01-13 03:48 PM
the talent is there, but results are pretty ordinary: good rebounder and passer who turns the ball over a ton and a volume scorer with slightly below-average efficiency.

he could be very good in the right environment, but his brain and sacramento is a bad combo.
2156126, He's not bad...he's crazy. He has skills but the decision making of
Posted by Castro, Mon Apr-01-13 04:08 PM
a 8 year bully...once he is out of Sac (if he gets out) he will be better
2156132, he's pretty shitty on offense (for his talent) but you have to believe
Posted by rob, Mon Apr-01-13 04:22 PM
that would be a lot better if he got his head right and on a stable squad.

cause even with no shooting he's 18 and 10. his defense has gotten a smidge better too.
2156148, i agree.
Posted by Guinness, Mon Apr-01-13 04:41 PM
to his credit, he's worked his way up to a TS% of 52%, which is a hair below average for a center (54%). that's a second year of improvement in that category (48% as a rookie, 50% last season). since he shoots a LOT, that's a big deal.

he also blocks a pathetic amount of shots for a center.
2156397, and yet flipping Duck Sauce for him plus a pick on draft day was a layup

2156451, i don't want to think about that.
Posted by Guinness, Tue Apr-02-13 09:02 AM
even favors would have been a much better pick.
2156579, RE: i don't want to think about that.
Posted by Bombastic, Tue Apr-02-13 11:58 AM
>even favors would have been a much better pick.

yup, that was the time to swap that pick out. Shit I'd rather Monroe, George & maybe even Bledsoe too.
2156598, why stop there?
Posted by Guinness, Tue Apr-02-13 12:15 PM
turner is terrible. favors, cousins, monroe, aminu, hayward, george, larry sanders, bledsoe, avery bradley, fields, booker, pondexter, vazquez and lance are all better.

peep the carnage:

2156408, Boogie is basically Zach Randolph before he arrived in Memphis
Posted by FILF, Tue Apr-02-13 02:45 AM
2156119, Shows how wack the league is now and ties in perfectly with FILF's post
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Apr-01-13 03:57 PM
2156182, Elmo just finished a month averaging 20/10 in only 32 minutes
Posted by FILF, Mon Apr-01-13 05:35 PM
Just like he has been doing throughout his career against your boys KG/Dirk/CWebb/Sheed/Brand/Shaq/Pau.....there is a reason why he has more double-doubles that any active player although, Sheed & KG came into the league 2 years earlier. He will be 20/10 in the 'off, book it.
2156187, Yet all that still doesn't refute anything about my original premise
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Apr-01-13 05:36 PM
2156192, So, basically Bean can't even win in a shitty league surrounded by HOFer
Posted by FILF, Mon Apr-01-13 05:45 PM
Co-sign
2156204, He's won 2 since Elmo last won one
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Apr-01-13 05:59 PM
2156209, oh you mean when shitty teams like Orlando went to the Finals
Posted by FILF, Mon Apr-01-13 06:09 PM
Not to mention Boston w/o KG.
2156217, yea the same year the West was stacked
Posted by LBs Finest, Mon Apr-01-13 06:22 PM
and Lakers were the 1 seed. Spurs probably would have beat Orlando in the finals had they made it...unfortunately because their conference was so competitive they got bounced in the 1st round in a quick 5 games so I guess we'll never know.
2156310, according to Truth's logic...... it wasn't

What about beating Boston in the Finals WITH KG?

2156411, ah yes, the great Kendrick Perkins
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Apr-02-13 05:11 AM
2156252, Too bad SA couldn't sniff a Finals those years.
Posted by Ryan M, Mon Apr-01-13 07:51 PM
Or for the last 6.
2156271, shoulda traded manu and never gotten rj
Posted by rob, Mon Apr-01-13 08:28 PM
2156307, **Look at pay roll**......yeah, they were never suppose to make it
Posted by FILF, Mon Apr-01-13 09:31 PM
2156295, David Lee is 18.5/11. He was averaging 20/10 around ASW
Posted by TRENDone, Mon Apr-01-13 09:08 PM
8 more games left, he probably won't pad his stats to average 20.
2156475, he'd need to avg around 30 a game to get there prolly.
Posted by Cenario, Tue Apr-02-13 09:41 AM
2267675, We have 4 right now, Love, Blake, Cuz, and Carmelo, then you have...
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Nov-26-13 10:38 AM
AD & LA on the cusp...

It's became cool to shit on Melo but that dude is balling his ass off with that bum ass squad, I don't know how long he's going to hold up playing 40+mpg though...
2268077, 20/10 ain't mean shyt but 20/10,,,,,,,,just another #emptystat
