What do yall think about couple of playoff games for those of us who wont have teams that go all the way to finals


I got a couple ideas. Respond below and let me know if you wanna be in for example

1) Player Pool- will work like the NFL and NCAA. NBA provides another intriguing factor---Yu could Draft Lebron and he goes to the Finals--but they could sweep everyone so you would get less games than say--Kevin Durant who may get to the Finals but has 6-7 games per series.

We can do pts, rebs, asts(maybe blocks and stls) and -1 for turnovers?

Since its the first year I say we go cheap at $10-$15 per to start.

10-12 teams with 7 players

16 teams make the playoffs with about 7-8 man rotations so this should work.


2) NBA Game prediction challenge- We can do this several ways but I think the easiest is whoever wants to play puts in $10-$20 and we just do a straight pick em(no point spreads) for each game. At the beginning of the series you can predct how the series will fall (i.e Spurs beat Lakers 4-2) if you hit that you get 3-5 bonus points.

Since we dont know how long each series will go we'll keep a running post and say the Lakers Play the Spurs tonight--you just have to get your pick in (timestamped) before tip off.


3) Stretch run western conference predictor challenge
We can do this one for free since we have to start soon but itd actually be fun to play for pts, money. We can add Dallas in too. For this game you have to predict all the Ws or Losses beforehand. Those arent my projections below. I just copied the schedules from another site. But yea every game is worth 1 point if you get it right.

suggestion though for the player pool.

how bout we do series averages instead of totals? It will take away the arbitrariness of the legnth of the rounds. Then take the avg and multiply by the games played (max 4) in the event that a player is injured or benched?

So youre gonna have to also try to predict how quickly guys win series.

I mean obviously no matter what Bron is the #1 pick...

We can start the weekend before without a time limit--but all the matchups may not be decided. If we wanna wait til everything is decided we start April 17.

i think that's a more sensible system.

or awarding fractional points for points scored in a loss.

i don't think i want to play if it's just raw scoring. that's just too random.

but i don't think her draft was like, unconscionably bad outside of Lebron.

The rest of her roster got hit by injuries and early exits, but it's not like she picked based on her favorite colors or something.

maybe a "in a win" multiplier for points.
