Donutsanity about to kickstart. White fans on clutchfans ben calling for DMo to play for the longest based really on nothing. He might be the 4th most popular Rocket after Harden, Lin, Chandler.

Im all for letting him play C in Cole Aldrich's spot.

He looks lost sometimes --especially on Defense, but who are we kidding, we dont play defense anyways.

Hes got a versatile enough offensive skillset where he can bang in the post a little, but also be a stretch 4/5.

We'll ee if we get to see him after the break or if it was just garbage time last night

I'd like to see Terrance Jones play but I have to say I like this kids attitude.

He asked to be sent down to Dleague a couple of weeks ago so he could keep playing rather than sitting on the bench, then this from last night:

Finally, though silver linings were not exactly in abundance Wednesday night from a Houston perspective, Rockets rookie Donatas Motiejunas most definitely made the most of his 16 minutes of action, recording a career-high 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting during that span. Motiejunas displayed his touch and footwork in the low-post while sinking a pair of jump hooks, and also showed off his rare speed for his size by flying down the floor to punctuate a Rockets’ fast break with a powerful slam.

The rookie from Lithuania eats, sleeps and breathes basketball. He makes no secret of his desire to be great, and he backs up that yearning with the sort of insatiable work ethic necessary to make that dream a reality. Make no mistake: Motiejunas has a long way to go to get there and he knows it. He needs to get stronger. He must become more of a presence on the glass and defensively. But Wednesday’s performance gave glimpses of the potential he possesses, and for Motiejunas those minutes – and what he did with them – were plenty meaningful.

“It just shows how hungry I am, how much I want to play basketball,” said Motiejunas. “To be honest, I did not expect to play so much so I didn’t really have a chance to get nervous. My teammates found me, I got a couple free throws, made a couple easy baskets, got in the game flow and after that it’s easy to play.

“That’s what I’m preparing for every single day. That’s why I’m here. Every single day I prepare myself to take over someone’s spot. That’s how it is. If you don’t fight for your spot, someone will push you out. So I’m the guy who’s trying to push out someone. As a team we are friends; I support each of these guys. But as a competitor I want to take their spot. I want playing time. That’s NBA, that’s how tricky it is. You have to support but at the same time be competitive with them.”
2131424, lol that play off Barnes was straight ANd 1 Mixtape tour

like what ive seen out of the kid--quick jump hook, post moves, range out to the 3, and a legit 7 footer,

Most of all ive been impressed by his attitude. Dude has worked his ass off all season to get this spot. Lets see if he can hold on

Also, a fun dude to follow on twitter: https://twitter.com/DonatasMot

Oh and heres a great quotable video:

2138894, Not a bad start

He can do it all offensively. He's gotta do a better job securing rebounds and defense but I think there's a nice ceiling here.
2140075, Got them dmo highlights

His potential on offense is through the roof. His defense is so bad though. I think he cn be the long term answer at the 4--the question is how long of a term will we want?

No highlights of his defense here but you can see his versatility. Depending on how he develops the rest of this year--could influence how we decide to play our offseason.
2147130, I know PPAt had a nice game last night

But this is why he was expendable even if it set us back a tiny bit right now.

This kid needs the chance to develop.

That pass at 18 seconds?

Oh and he's 7 foot tall and 22.

Better than Jonas.

Dont ask me about his defense though.
2147137, I kinda like Jonas too.

Plays tough.

How has T-Rob played?
2147140, Actually been decent
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Thu Mar-14-13 11:22 AM
He's been bamming it up.

He's trying to be a poor man's faried.

He doesnt have the size or athleticism to be as good at bamming it up but I'll take it.
Id be happy if he could be our Carl Landry.

Last night he had 12 and 7 in 20 minutes. Some but not all of it was in garbage time.
2147151, still can't set a decent screen. drives me nuts.

2397218, Donuts get your Donuts! Best post arsenal in the NBA
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sun Dec-07-14 08:52 AM
I mean he may not be the most effective post player yet, but who in the NBA has this arsenal in the post outside of Timmay.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pA0sxLqQAuk&t=0m0s

It may be more of an indictment onthe current post play in the NBA.
Hes getting more and more confident. I hope they copntinue to use him in the post as opposed to as a stretch 4.

Hes put on a lot of weight the past couple seasons but still needs to get stronger.

The other problem is he also runs around like a chicken with its head cut off. If he just slows down a bit sometime he would be so much better.
