moved into the top floor of an apartment, introduced myself to the downstairs lady on moving day to say, 'hi I'm your new neighbor.' she was insanely icy. only other interactions I have are when she comes up to let me know when I'm being too noisy.

within the first month, right after I have an out-of-town friend visit and we enjoy ourselves a bit, I get a call from the landlord. I'm absolutely dreading it because I'm certain it's going to be a noise complaint from downstairs.

turns out downstairs lady had just died in a car accident. her daughter will be around to clean out her things.

very weird. I ended up with her vacuum because her daughter was getting rid of it and offered it to me first.
