Im very impressed by Drummond though so far...he's acclimating a lot quicker than I think anyone really thought he would, myself included obviously.

oh, we've got one of the best rebounders and shot-blockers on the planet -- let's play him 19 minutes a game. what a stat line tonight.
2122117, His minutes are fine

He's the second youngest player in the game, he's raw as hell. Still gets winded pretty easily. Once it becomes clearer we're not a playoff team, I'm sure he'll get a minutes bump.
2122118, Monroe followed a similar path.
Posted by SoulHonky, Wed Jan-30-13 12:09 AM
Monroe didn't start playing 30mpg until February of his rookie season, and Drummond's grasp on the game is still behind where Monroe was his rookie year.

I also think, given his reputation, having him continually have to work for the starting spot isn't the worst idea out there.
2122269, don't mind Stat Guys

every time Drummond comes up, they are constitutionally required to whine about playing time, because per-minute stats always translate when minutes are extended and no 19 year old prospect has ever been undone by too much, too soon.
2122275, wait.

"if you can rebound, you can do it against anyone" - bshelly

look, i can't speak to drummond's conditioning, but the fact of the matter is that per minute stats like rebounding usually do translate. faried, asik, reggie evans, vucevic, etc.

anyway, i hope they're done with arbitrarily capping his minutes. he's only played over 30 minutes once all season (he had 16/11 that game). he's too good to be sitting this much.

2122293, dogg, why are you so damn aggy? this isn't a shot a drummond.

there is literally NOTHING you can do to make me take UCONN seriously or be mad about anything UCONN-related. i respect calhoun. i respect all the great pros y'all produced in the last 20 years. i don't be hatin on UCONN. so, why are you MAD?

this thread was a compliment.

and i don't even care about Zoubs. lmao...damn, it's just so uncalled for.

I mean, drummond might be a 15 RPG guy when he is a starter. All with looking like he has never seen/touched a basketball in his life.
2122265, 15 is pretty heavy but dude will get double digits

Pretty raw though and not well conditioned yet. Project type like Deandre Jordan. Maybe not quite the upside but also I think a little more bankable in some areas.

In other pisstains news, I am starting to regret my second GTown year reversal on Greg Monroe. I thought so highly of him early on then I was like, fuck this guy, he is soft. He's playing good ball.
2122303, pardon me I had to laugh at that (c) Young Vito

there's a reason DeAndre went second round, and a reason that Drummond went top 10 even with a subpar (based on expectations)freshman year and supposed motor issues. His upside is TREEEMENDOUS.

Andre Drummond is doing what DeAndre is doing, probably better, at 19 and with no clue what he's doing. DeAndre's been in the league 5 years.

No. just..No.
2122328, C'mon man.

Drummond's upside is higher than DeAndre Jordan. C'mon. Especially offensively.
2122333, have you ever watched a pistons game? deandre jordan? LMAO
