2122014, The Official NBA transaction post

-Tyreke to the Celts (Courtney Lee plus a pick should do it)
2122024, That's a bad look for him...
Posted by gmltheone, Tue Jan-29-13 09:49 PM
From ROY to traded for filler and a non lottery pick.

Same as it ever was!
2122060, It's working for Ovinton
Posted by FILF, Tue Jan-29-13 10:38 PM
2122027, Lock this post. Or change its title to "NBA Wishful Thinking."

2122035, I'd rather keep the pick than add Tyreke.
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Jan-29-13 10:05 PM
I'm 100% off the Evans bandwagon. The C's already don't know how to play together; adding Tyreke would make matters worse.
2122039, Exactly. That trade is dumb
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Jan-29-13 10:10 PM
2122055, That's exactly why Boston should make such a deal.
Posted by Cold Truth, Tue Jan-29-13 10:33 PM
>Adding Tyreke would make matters worse.

In fact, they should trade Rondo for him right this second.
2122059, Dude fell off b/c they tried to make him a 2 guard
Posted by FILF, Tue Jan-29-13 10:37 PM
Reke's jump shot used to be as broke as Rondo's so that didn't work out. He worked on his outside shooting during the off-season and it's showing. Now if you put the ball in his hands, he is back to being Tyerke circa 2010 w/ a jump shot when he's fit. If anything, he might not pass a physical b/c his knee is a wreck.
2122069, He's not worth a 1st round pick.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Jan-29-13 10:48 PM
Especially when you consider the Kings haven't extended him.

He's a bad fit for the Celtics as a ball pounding wing that can't hit 3s.
2122081, who's playing the point, JET?
Posted by FILF, Tue Jan-29-13 11:01 PM
Reke became the ROY playing the point and fell off playing the wing. BTW, he has improved his outside shot, stats don't lie.
2122088, He got R.O.Y. bringing the ball up & driving to the basket.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Jan-29-13 11:06 PM
Celts don't need that.

They do need a 1st round pick though.
2122089, word?
Posted by FILF, Tue Jan-29-13 11:06 PM
>Celts don't need that.

2122112, If he created when he drove and didn't bog down the O
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Jan-29-13 11:52 PM
and knew how to run the point, then the Celtics could use him.

'Reke still has potential but I'm not sure he has the head to put it together. He most certainly needs a change of scenery though. He's never going to amount to anything with Keith Smart, Geoff Petrie and the Kings.

Maybe in the offseason, we could look at him but adding 'Reke midseason won't work. He barely seems to know the Kings' plays; I can't imagine he'd pick up the Celtics' offense quickly.
2122107, Playing point is good for 'Reke; bad for the team
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Jan-29-13 11:46 PM
Dude can't play point guard. Watching him at the point vs. Isaiah Thomas is night and day. The team works so much better once the ball's out of Evans's hands. Avery Bradley is a better point guard than Tyreke Evans at this point. Hell, AB might just be better than 'Reke period.
2122065, why don't people like Tyreke?
Posted by ChampAreno, Tue Jan-29-13 10:42 PM
I honestly haven't heard a word about him all season outside of trade talk. Looking at his stats, he seems like he's had a halfway decent year although his team is pretty shitty.
2122067, Cats take their agenda Ls serious on OKP
Posted by FILF, Tue Jan-29-13 10:43 PM
2122100, cause he's not James Harden, and he could/should be
Posted by themaddfapper, Tue Jan-29-13 11:24 PM
2122127, but, he really, really, really can't be
Posted by Basaglia, Wed Jan-30-13 12:30 AM
2122129, the same way a 300c aint never gonna be a bentley. yup.
Posted by themaddfapper, Wed Jan-30-13 12:33 AM
2122108, You answered your own question
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Jan-29-13 11:47 PM
He does well, his team does shitty.

He needs to learn how to play team basketball and operate without the ball in his hands. The Kings are a disaster but 'Reke is still a project and thinking he can step in and run point for the Celtics is a recipe for disaster.
2122175, Yeah, nothing to do with Sacramentos team...
Posted by Szabo, Wed Jan-30-13 05:52 AM
Midget/Chucking Point Guards, Headcase C who doesn't play defense, Thompson, Chuck Hayes. Tyreke isn't a star, but come on he isn't the reason they're losing.
2122266, He's not helping
Posted by SoulHonky, Wed Jan-30-13 12:15 PM
When Tyreke isn't running the point, the offense looks better. Obviously the Kings aren't a good team but he's one of the reasons they aren't putting it together. The whole situation in Sacramento is a mess. They need to clean house from GM down.

But the teams that should go after 'Reke are rebuilding teams, not teams that need someone to step up and be able to run the point from day 1. Charlotte should kick the tires, not the Celtics.
2122155, Team Reke. Go get him Danny
