if there's one CLEAR way the NBA could improve the league with a structural change, it would be improving the scheduling (and probably playing less games).
back to back in Portland one night, LA the other, with the same two teams playing doesn't give me much confidence that tonight's game will be particularly pleasing to watch, but we'll see...

I've read some dudes have taken to wearing like compression sleeves on their legs while they're in flight because doctors are saying that the physiological effects of flying affect an athlete's physical performance.
it's more than just sleep deficits, there's a physical toll in flying. I guess chartered flights mitigate that, but still ... NBA could do better, that's the main point.

which would almost eliminate back to back to backs
and some back to backs
unless, as you said earlier, the league eliminates games from the schedules
= -$$$ (not happening)
I don't think a POR/LAC home and away is the case to base this argument
for ex:
LAC could have caught the flight home last night
how much time, according to your research, does an athlete need to be 100% after a flight
is there an hours of acclimation to hours of flight ratio
POR could have done the same, but I suspect they chose to sleep at home and catch a morning flight
and I would expect that would leave them enough time to recuperate
after a 2hr flight
just my opinion though

The biggest issue with OKC vs Miami is their lack of an interior paint presence. Miami is the one team that can play them defensively on the perimeter but OKC lacks the big who can punish them offensively for their rotations.

Going to the doc or emergency room tomorrow to get confirmation.
There's not a lot of swelling, I can walk, no super restrictions in movement but if I turn in the wrong way there's some slight pain and instability.
Damn for Rondo and damn for me and damn for anyone who's torn this ligament.

I guess from the tear a small pool of blood had collected
the instability for me was falling to the ground like a house of cards

Hopefully you didn't fully hear it and surgery won't be necessary. I had a slight tear in my MCL last summer and luckily I didn't need surgery. Get a brace, ice that bad boy down, elevate your knee above your heart and hope for the best.

It could be a partial (I'm praying) but I fear the worse. I saw the play Rondo tore his on and his reaction and it's EXACTLY what happened to me.
On a landing, heel skidded out on the landing, knee buckled, I limped about 4 steps. Sat for a few cuz I thought it was a tweak, pain subsided, got up to run the next game, tried to jump/turn for a rebound...it didn't feel right. I called it a day.
Over the next 30 min swelling kicked in but I already had ice on it.

What you're talking about is when it pops on a jump (Rose/Shumpert)...me and Rondo's ripped on a landing/plant.
Different pain/duration but same effect - torn ligament.

That offense wasn't predicated on only Webber...it was based on Webber, Vlade and the screen-roll 2 man game. Having two of the best passing bigs completely opened up that offense because you can run high post and high-low from any angle. It's not nearly the same thing that Eddie Jordan was running which is a traditional Princeton.

Anyhow, he's done this god knows how many times before. He could do it whenever he wanted if he so chose. At the end of the day this isn't a new Kobe or anything, it's just a couple of games where he'll show how effective he can be while playing this style, and it'll be business as usual a few games from now.
