2111915, Damn, Stuart Scott's cancer has returned
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Jan-15-13 09:36 AM
I know a lot of people give him a hard time for some of his obvious on-air shtick, but what sports anchor doesn't have a shtick of his/her own? Kinda crazy to see that he does p90x after his chemo treatments. A coworker of mine had lymphoma last year and his said the chemo treatments are no joke and most times left him feeling worse. Get well, Stu.

2111941, Is this the second or third cancer appearance for him?
Posted by Numba_33, Tue Jan-15-13 10:13 AM
I'm not a fan of his on-air stuff, but that is pretty unfortunate. Hope he remains mentally strong through all he has to go through.
2112014, at least third.

2112013, all chemo is not created equal
Posted by veritas, Tue Jan-15-13 11:14 AM
different treatments affect people differently.

not saying working out after treatment isn't impressive, but "chemo" broadly can mean a whole lot of things.

hope he recovers and lives a full life, like i do for all people fighting cancer.
2112034, I didn't know this...thanks.

Both my grandparents died from cancer. By the time it was detected, it was too late for treatment in both cases. The only person I have ever seen go through chemo was my friend Tony that I mentioned. They installed a port (for lack of the correct terminology) in his chest. He had treatments like every other day at first. He'd be wiped out afterwards and go home and not come back out again that day. Said he had 0 energy. Took him a while after the treatments ended to get his stamina back to the point of even considering coming back to work.
2112015, *prayers going up*.

I don't hate on that kat like a lot of folks do, I just want him to get well.

Cancer don't care
2112184, I have major respect for how he is handling this man

So positive...my sincere best wishes to Stu. Keep fighting with your head up, it's a helluva example, not only to those with cancer but those facing any obstacle.
