But I mean, cmon, career? Magic went to NINE NBA Finals. One could argue he was their top player the whole time, especially with the injury to Jabbar in the 80 Finals (they also had injuries up the ass in 83 when they lost, but Magic was there). He won as many rings and more conference crowns in a much shorter career. He also had all the individual honors.

You couldn't really compare them statistically because their roles were completely different. I think you'd have to give the nod to Magic on leadership over Kobe or Shaq for sure though. Kobe was clearly a better or at least much more interested defensive player. Their offensive games are just too different but I would say Magic was more dominant. He dictated the pace of the game and he was just in constant command. Kobe could take over at a more intense level, but not as consistently, plus if he was off he could hurt you worse.
