Just, wow.

2106539, This dude got 12 mil
Posted by HeadNodda, Tue Jan-08-13 04:26 PM
to sit behind Vick. Crazy. After the Eagles shipped McNabb out of town, they gave KOlb "starter" money and guaranteed him 12 mil. Dude got knocked out Vick took over.

Now Philly is gonna cut Vick cuz "15 mil" is too much to pay for him as a start. Gotta love the NFL.
2106551, smh another reason why they should have dumped mcnabb a year earlier
Posted by southphillyman, Tue Jan-08-13 04:47 PM

the whole reason why they gave kolb all that dough was because he was coming off his rookie deal that yr, having only played a couple of games while on it
they basically signed him on some mid tier free agent shit without really having a body of work to go off of
if they dump mcnabb a yr earlier they get that extra time to evaluate kolb without having to make a commitment
the cards somehow compounded that idiocy by giving dude a healthy ass deal with even less information , at least the eagles saw him in practice on the reg
2106580, they gave him that money because he was gonna be the starter

until Clay used his jaw like it was a Toro Gas Trimmer.
2106555, Vick shoulda learned how to ride that concussion to the bank

from Kolb
2106706, That is not that accurate of a representation with what happened

They were hedging bets exercising the $5M option on Vick and limiting liability but keeping Kolb on a one-year deal, albeit a bloated one.

I think they managed the situation pretty well.

I also don't know that Vick is getting turned loose because he makes too much money. That is certainly not helping his cause, but overall he is a veteran guy and this is a rebuilding team. Why would he even WANT to stick around? Some team will pay him well, he's got a big deal left in him.
2106774, no he doesn't, what team is giving Vick a big contract this offseason?

2106877, he will make good money for a short term, put it that way

nothing like this contract, no, but i think someone will sign him to be a starter.
2106880, so he'll get a one-year deal with a team-option for a second at what?

plays for irrelevant ass Arizona so nobody cares if he sucks.
i bet his golf game is tight.
2106786, aint gotta get hit? I watched the Rams sack him 9 times...

at the Dome. Dude was gettin bounced off the ground like a NERF ball. Only thing that saved him from continued abuse was injury.
2106825, well, Kolb can now retire to the sweet life of a back-up QB
Posted by smutsboy, Tue Jan-08-13 11:18 PM
Paid seven figures to study football and never get hit.
2106767, Whilst were here can we talk about jake locker
Posted by IceburgSmurf, Tue Jan-08-13 10:26 PM
injuries or no i didnt realise he was the 8th pick of the draft. I thought he was a second rounder. I know titans fans round here are generally low key and modest but we can talk about his bustyness, right?
2106867, Its still too early. As a Titan fan I'm giving Jake another year

2106869, i know garbage when i see it
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Jan-09-13 12:14 AM
when we drafted him, i already started looking at QBs for the 2014 and 2015 drafts.

we just wasting time right now.
