Posted by guru0509, Tue Jan-08-13 06:52 PM
1 Rose Bowl win over a mediocre Wisconsin team and suddenly he's better than other coaches that have won national championships in much harder conferences?

miss me with all that
2106618, He doesn't pay for shit though.
Posted by vik, Tue Jan-08-13 06:56 PM
and he's even got some of these SEC fans taking notice.

Dude is not taking guys that scored 700 on the SAT or commit armed robbery.
2106884, Nobody cares..Stanford finally won a bowl game this year
Posted by guru0509, Wed Jan-09-13 12:50 AM
Congrats little guy ...you're on your way up.

All this academic chest thumping is supposed to mean something to me?

Lol deal with it and win or get out of the PAC 12 if the academics are such a burden on recruiting

Edit not even sure why I'm entertaining someone who thinks Stanford is faster than Alabama

2105982, 2. Urban

3. Les Miles
4. Bill Snyder
5. tie between Chip Kelly/David Shaw

our loss to Stanford this year aside... Miles almost always has better talent on his side.

He needs to build at A&M first. But if he can establish himself as the only SEC coach capable of beating Bama, he'll be #1.

about Sumlin taking it to the #1 coach in his own house. We're a few years removed from Urb's success at Florida. Let him build on his legacy at OSU and get the Buckeyes to the championship game and dominate a SEC team then he can get a seat back at the head of the table.
2106898, tOSu fans are still feeling hot in the vaginal area though

2106902, No one said he isn't a great coach
Posted by guru0509, Wed Jan-09-13 02:21 AM
There are some who are just as good if not better.

Urban Meyer is one of them.

All that other shit is going to happen sooner or later.

He's luring all sorts of SEC talent to Columbus, and Asiatic QB U will be right back in the hunt next year, where we belong .

Just you wait Henry Higgins just you wait ....

the only one in this thread that's coming off as having 'hurt feelings' is you...

there's a reason why urbs is making twice the amount of money as sumlin.

do i really need to hash out the discrepancies in their resume? do you not have access to google? critical analysis ain't your thing? what's the story? cause this is an easy one...

2107027, Nah, I just think its cute how quickly y'all have bandwagoned on...
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Jan-09-13 10:45 AM
Meyer's success at Florida which included kicking the shit out of OSU and acting like he did it all in Ohio. Just because a coach has success at one place doesn't automatically mean they're going to replicate that same success every else they go. Wait your turn, once you're off probation and Urban shows and proves on the field at OSU then you can have something to stick your chest out about, until then sit the fuck down.
2107058, Are you being serious right now?
Posted by guru0509, Wed Jan-09-13 11:06 AM
>Meyer's success at Florida which included kicking the shit
>out of OSU and acting like he did it all in Ohio.

Guess what Einstein, a coach's past credentials don't just up and disappear because he switched schools...lol @ even having to explain this to you. It's like you're being obtuse on purpose.

Everything that Sumlin did in Houston is still part of his resume. I'm really not sure why this is so confusing to you.

>Just because
>a coach has success at one place doesn't automatically mean
>they're going to replicate that same success every else they
>go.

Lol, says the dude getting hype off Sumlin's ONE SEASON in College Station.

You've taken SO many L's regarding Urban I'm beginning to lose count.

First it was "oh he'll never go to OSU", then it was "oh he'll never get players from the South to go up north"

and now after an undefeated season in his first year as head coach, you want him to show and prove on the field?

Lol, make up your mind. You're sloppy and all over the place.

2107066, The point is that a list of the top coaches 4 or 5 years ago is different...
Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Jan-09-13 11:20 AM
from today.

Nobody is denying Urban's past credentials but can he do it again? Does he still have the same hunger, and passion? Or will he get burned out again and bail. He left Florida for a reason. Just like players, coaches have their primes too and he could've peaked already.

Bottom line, wait and see. You guys are claiming multiple national titles before they happen. Even Alabama fans aren't that arrogant.

2107079, really? link?

which i think is pretty fair given OSU's schedule
2107059, aka youre mad as fuck and insist on making it personal
Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Jan-09-13 11:07 AM
> Just because
>a coach has success at one place doesn't automatically mean

You do realize that Meyer was a head coach before UF? At this point I'm inclined to believe that you really don't know this. Ignorance would be a better excuse on your behalf than sheer stupidity.

>Wait your turn, once you're off probation and Urban shows
>and proves on the field at OSU then you can have something to
>stick your chest out about, until then sit the fuck down.

again, you insist on making it personal. lmao @ puffing my chest out about anything. All I did was make a very black and white observation about Meyer's resume (prior to coaching at OSU). You're too busy foaming at the mouth about OSU and how stupid you looked insisting that Meyer would never coach in Ohio to digest any of this in a rationale matter.

I'm not 'bandwagoning' on shit. It's not like I was saying Urban sucked while he was at UF anymore than I've made negative comments about Saban, Sumlin, or Shaw, etc. I actually have some objectivity. You don't.
2106427, It's Meyer

2107095, If I'm building up a program my calls would be going out in this order
Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Jan-09-13 11:57 AM
1. Urban

2. David Shaw
3. Charlie Strong
4. Pat Fitzgerald
5. Kevin Sumlin
6. Gary Patterson
7. Brian Kelly

I'm leaving Chip Kelly off that list because of what now looks like will be a yearly the end of season NFL headache. Plus, I'm not sure if his system would thrive in other conferences nor do I think it will ever knock off the SEC.
2107125, id switch Fitz and Strong and put my gap between those two
Posted by cgonz00cc, Wed Jan-09-13 12:27 PM
may also switch Patterson and Sumlin but id have those exact same names
2107270, I think Fitz could beast in the right spot but I'd be worried about
Posted by 3xKrazy, Wed Jan-09-13 01:54 PM
his willingness to get his hands dirty and recruit at an elite level.

Saban's X's and O's aren't THAT much better than everyone else.
2107980, thats part of why i like him so much tho. he seems above that.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Thu Jan-10-13 07:18 AM
he probably isnt, but he comes across as an awesome representative of his university

the kind of guy that is going straight to athletic director at NW as soon as he's done coaching
