Personally.....
I hated the Shanahan-as-defacto-GM from the jump. (or any HC-as-GM for that matter)
In 4 years I haven't seen much to change my mind.
His ceiling as a personnel guy is mediocre at best.
Seems pointless to me.
It's like sticking with Alex Smith or Matt Cassel when you know you'll need an elite QB to win.
Mediocre GMs don't get it done.
