2103781, NBA Observations 1-5-13
Posted by CherNic, Sat Jan-05-13 06:24 PM
aka background noise to the NFL playoffs. 10 games on schedule tho

Celtics @ Hawks
Knicks @ Magic
Bucks @ Pacers
Kings @ Nets
Rockets @ Cavs
TrailBlazers @ TWolves
Hornets @ Mavs
76ers @ Spurs
Jazz @ Nuggets
Warriors @ Clippers
2103783, I was supposed to be at the Celtics game. But eff it
Posted by Lach, Sat Jan-05-13 06:29 PM
2103818, Clips need to win tonight.
Posted by haj20, Sat Jan-05-13 07:15 PM
They can't drop two at home to a division rival.
2103828, Courtney Lee & Jeff Green.....good Lord
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jan-05-13 07:35 PM
This Celts d is atrocious
2103831, prigioni is the perfect pg for stat. sheed n camby perfect bigs
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 07:36 PM
stat should have some manu type 6th man numbers by years end. 2nd team big men in this league suck.
2103874, Triple Double Alert - Rajon Rondo
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jan-05-13 09:01 PM
2103885, Melo Cookin'
Posted by RexLongfellow, Sat Jan-05-13 09:26 PM
Kidd turned back the clock
We were getting roasted by Goomba...glad Orlando did us a favor and took him out the game

ORL plays teams tough but no cigar. 5 of their 8 losses on their losing streak by 4 points or less...they get a few of those and their season is completely turned around
2103887, can't believe I'm saying this: Big Baby being out is a big deal.
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 09:29 PM
they play hard as fuck, and they came out cooking.

Melo. 40.
Camby w/ the Hi-Lo passing.
Stat is just a matter of time before he gets his legs under him.

good road win.
2103899, I Agree
Posted by RexLongfellow, Sat Jan-05-13 09:57 PM
Big Baby would've made a difference. However, they probably play different when he's there. They run a different kind of offense without him

>they play hard as fuck, and they came out cooking.
>
>Melo. 40.
>Camby w/ the Hi-Lo passing.
>Stat is just a matter of time before he gets his legs under
>him.
STAT is coming...getting back little by little

>good road win.
Solid win indeed. I'll tell you this, Felton is really showing why he's needed for this team. As good as Kidd & Priggie have been, Felton can at least keep those type of guards in front of him
2103905, here's what I hope ray gets when he gets back
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 10:02 PM
if it's not happening, dribble penetrate and find guys. between stat, shump, melo, novak, smith, and tyson lobs, there's no need for ray to shoot more than 20 shots unless he's unconscious.

and if they go felton/kidd/shumpert, there should be enough hands in the passing lane defense to offense fast breaks that'll get the easy buckets they struggled to get felton's last 10 games or so.
2103888, lmao, nobody on that team could guard Melo
Posted by Starks dunked on Bulls, Sat Jan-05-13 09:29 PM
2103889, people have to start running away from harden on the break
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 09:34 PM
cause he's gonna run you down and get the and-1. 12 year vet shit @ 23.
2103890, This nigga Harden got a call when a nigga was running away from him!!
Posted by Radio Rahim, Sat Jan-05-13 09:35 PM
Fuckin bullshit. Livingston was litterally backing away fast as hell and harden runs into him on the break and gets the call.
2104505, He done taken Wade's title for getting phantom calls in his favor
Posted by FILF, Sun Jan-06-13 07:50 PM
2103891, there are possessions where boogie doesn't know who he's guarding
Posted by bshelly, Sat Jan-05-13 09:38 PM
like, literally. not hyperbole. there's a pick, and then he doesn't know.
2103895, never watched a full kyrie game. gifted doesnt begin to describe him
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 09:49 PM
2103951, He's top 3 if not the best finishing guard at the rim
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sat Jan-05-13 11:46 PM
>Hell he might be top 3 in the whole NBA. Dude has sick body control and always finishes at the rim after contact. Itll be a play where if its Jeremy Lin I'm just happy he's getting a call and getting to the line to get 2 shots. Kyrie finds a way to hang, get to the line, and make the shot. Its not like a one time thing, it happens multiple times a game. Then there's that pull up jumpshot thats just wet. Part of the challenge with having that talent will be to be a team player/winner.

His passing and vision isnt as bad as some people on here want to act like. He finds guys fine. Sometimes he goes into hero mode, and its understandable considering his teamates, but hero ball is also a hard habit to break out of even when you do start getting teamates.

The defensive criticism again isnt really warranted. The amount of pick and roll ball played in the league these days gusy dont get beat 1 on 1 AT LEAST 50% of the time. You get caught on a screen. Theres things Kyrie and Jeremy can do to read screens better, but overall its about help principles and team defense.

Tonight for Jeremy was one of those games that didnt look bad if you bobby'd the game but he really only played well in that 2nd qtr, and that was because he hit his jumpshot. He still has to go harder to the rim and take the layup.
2103964, Kyries def better but this will be a fun matchup to watch yrs to come
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sun Jan-06-13 12:06 AM
2104113, is conley vs. irving a matchup niggas have to watch
Posted by ISmashedYourBitch, Sun Jan-06-13 02:11 PM
then why the fuck would jeremy be a matchup i have to watch yo face it fam ur guard is avergae thats all he is niggas clown jennings here but he is better than lin
2103897, Lin's gonna hear from the league office. he flopped like shit.
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 09:52 PM
2103915, That was a forearm to the chest. I don't think it was a flop.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jan-05-13 10:21 PM
2103917, It was a flop...and an offensive foul
Posted by Basaglia, Sat Jan-05-13 10:30 PM
2103925, Yeah he sold it a bit. But aren't they fining....
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Jan-05-13 10:43 PM
for the blatant joints where the defender isn't touched.
2103920, he hit him w/ a forearm, not a rifle shot from a book depository
Posted by themaddfapper, Sat Jan-05-13 10:38 PM
basa has it right. it was a foul, but Lin was extra.
2103928, Yup. His head flew back like Marquez hit em
Posted by Radio Rahim, Sat Jan-05-13 10:46 PM
2103938, which play was this?
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sat Jan-05-13 11:07 PM
I was watching in line at the airport (flight now delayed til 1030)
but I saw a play where Kyrie pump faked, gave a little forearm, Lin crowded him and got called for the foul on the jumpshot.

Im guessing this wasnt that play?

2103955, Argh missed that.
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sat Jan-05-13 11:54 PM
He machine gun funked it. But I don't know if they fine you for plays that are charges.
2103934, Gordon was waiting on OT to show up.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sat Jan-05-13 11:01 PM
2103935, lol, Eric Gordon goes 1/9 until OT then makes 3/4 to beat the Mavs...
Posted by BlassFemur, Sat Jan-05-13 11:03 PM
along with blocking an OJ Mayo 3 (to tie) with his foot. Weird ending.
2103939, Clippers kicking the shit outta the Warriors early
Posted by BlassFemur, Sat Jan-05-13 11:08 PM
2103966, So the Clippers took that last loss to the Ws kinda personal?
Posted by veritas, Sun Jan-06-13 12:26 AM
2103970, apparently so, that or they just couldn't miss tonight
Posted by Bombastic, Sun Jan-06-13 12:33 AM
Lawler's Law got called early this evening. I think they were up 40 at that point.
2103998, Winning is still new to GS and it showed the last 2 games vs the Clips
Posted by haj20, Sun Jan-06-13 03:38 AM
They paid for their immaturity tonight.
2104114, It's still new to the clippers too lol
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sun Jan-06-13 02:19 PM
>They paid for their immaturity tonight.

Foh with that holier than though shit. Clippers do the same kinda clowning on the bench. Tonight's gstate loss wasn't surprising in woulda been more surprised if they beat the clippers twice in one week after spanking their shit.
2104121, GS hasn't even made the playoffs and they're acting like...
Posted by haj20, Sun Jan-06-13 02:38 PM
They won the chip after every win. The two Clipper losses to them weren't surprising either, the first one was a night after they played the Lakers and the 2nd was in GS after playing the nuggets in Denver the night before.
2103973, Kevin love fractured that same bone in his hand
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Sun Jan-06-13 12:52 AM
He's out another month at least. If they're smart they just wait it out and really let it heal.
2103974, sucks
Posted by Basaglia, Sun Jan-06-13 12:56 AM
2103997, I wonder if David Lee still thinks he's the best PF in the league. lol
Posted by haj20, Sun Jan-06-13 03:32 AM
2104026, *quickly laughs at SPM, truth and subjectmattr, gracefully exits*
