I like the playcall. It was a nice route combo to get Green open on the out but the pressure came. Dalton didn't have time to wait to 'see it become open' before throwing it, so he saw the pressure, said 'oh shit', and hot potato'd the rock towards the Tecmo Bowl slant...for < 1st down yardage. It happens. Most QBs don't have the sack to make anticipation throws on the reg. Missing the deep throw to Green over the top was the real killer. To me, the deep ball is what makes questionable/young QBs startable in the NFL nowadays. If Dalton can't hit that, he shouldn't be starting.

After seeing a lot of Cincy games, Dalton is a mess at times. They needs real weapons like a squirrelly change of pace back (who is better than Bernard Scott) to go with Law Firm so that at least Cincy's offense wouldn't die when Jay gets bored of effectively running the ball with Law Firm or the opponent sticks a safety over the top for Green.
