2021328, define "serious candidate" Posted by DJR, Fri Aug-17-12 02:57 PM
Parker finished 5th last year.....and didn't really have any chance in hell at getting it. Melo finished 6th in MVP voting in 2010, yet you said he's never been a serious candidate. So, 5th = serious candidate, but 6th = not serious candidate. FOH. Melo has been in the top 15 of MVP voting more times than Parker, and has made more All NBA teams than Parker too.
>team would take a point guard who w/championship meddle over >a ball hog... > >If they were both free agents, Parker would be the 1st option >just as D-Will was when he and Melo were both free agents two >seasons ago.
This is absolutely laughable. You sound like a biased Spurs fan.
>>He's 46% from the field in his career, don't cherry pick >>stats. He wasn't healthy most of last year. > >dude said I'm cherry picking lmao...ok, his career average is >actually 45.6% so I assume you're rounding it out.
Yeah......when you're taking .456 down to two digits, it rounds to 46%, not 45%. That's how rounding works. That's his %, if you're going two digits. But I bet you know that, you just rounded the way you wanted, in order to support your "argument" just a little more.
>>I remember when Garnett used to get criticized by a segment >of >>fans for not being able to get out of the first round(but >>once...they overlooked his conf. finals run just like >Melo's), >>and he was a better player in Minnesota than he was/is in >>Boston. > >But KG was always a terrific ALL AROUND player and everyone >knew he wasn't surrounded by any real championship contending >teams but he was always a 20/10/5 player and SHOT OVER 50% >from the floor... >
Yeah, KG was always a terrific player.....just like Melo has been. And KG also got criticized just like Melo sometimes gets. The only difference when Minn. made the conference finals was in his teammates.....they got him Sprewell and Cassell and they both played well in 2004. Same thing with Melo and Chauncey in 2009. Put Melo on the Celtics over the last 5 years, and he'd have an NBA title too.
