i love kobe's big doggedness, and i'd take him a few years ago, but if this matchup ever happens (they shook on it, so...), he gonna get mixed so bad.

The Temple of Mad Making never was funnier.

It's kind of funny to hear Kobe sound... old.
2008017, basically...i think kobe will win, depending on the "rules"
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Jul-13-12 07:29 AM

if they play "no post"...kyrie will win. he can bother kobe shot enough to get the ball back.

i straight up don't see kobe staying anywhere near him when he has to guard him.

if they let kobe post...it's gonna be bad. real bad.

but kyrie still gonna make kobe look old and mad tryna guard him. that's why i hope they don't let him post. because when kyrie blow by him ONCE, kobe gettin that ball and puttin his ass right in kyrie chest and backing down to the cup all hard like a pure bamma with old man strength.
2008052, their are no favors in a 1 on 1 challenge...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Fri Jul-13-12 09:16 AM
..kyrie will have the floor, kobe will have the post

the difference is, kyrie can't afford to miss

..and miles to go before i sleep...
2008054, yup...i agree
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Jul-13-12 09:18 AM
2008055, I've never heard of this...

I wonder why Kyrie didn't challenge CP3 or Deron or Russ?

2008078, lmao
Posted by T Reynolds, Fri Jul-13-12 09:56 AM
2008058, i think kobe introduced the idea and kyrie followed up on it
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Jul-13-12 09:24 AM
2008097, hilarious cuz its true

Posted by JAESCOTT777, Fri Jul-13-12 09:01 AM
Only way he can win is a no post rule
Cause like ba said

Kobe will back him down

And it's a wrap
2008044, i LOVE him

2008056, there should be a bust of roshown mcloed in CIS for gettin us kyrie
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Jul-13-12 09:23 AM
he botched his recruitment so bad at indiana that he fell in duke's hands.

some say rosho encouraged kyrie to go to duke..."off the record"...and that's why he was fired.
2008059, i assume all the hate is duke related? Every game he played for
Posted by Cenario, Fri Jul-13-12 09:25 AM
the cavs he looked real good. Byron just need to take the reins off.

he was a better pg than wall last year imo.

I think Byron handled him right, some guys get " the reins taken off" too soon and get more caught up in doing tricks than winning games
2008068, he coulda played him a lil more than 30mpg tho
Posted by Cenario, Fri Jul-13-12 09:43 AM
unless they were just tanking.
2008074, RE: he coulda played him a lil more than 30mpg tho
Posted by ThaTruth, Fri Jul-13-12 09:53 AM
like I said in that other post, he was coming off an 11-game college freshman season where he played like 27mpg and Byron is supposed to throw him out there for 35+mpg in his first NBA for what? To get some stats?
2008077, 35mpg to get some wins. he was clearly the best player on that
Posted by Cenario, Fri Jul-13-12 09:56 AM
team and a huge drop off when he wasn't on the floor.

like i said, unless they were tanking.
2008094, RE: 35mpg to get some wins. he was clearly the best player on that

So risk the kid's future for a few more wins on a team that's not going anywhere anyway?
2008096, lol 35minutes is gonna risk is future? he was healthy.
Posted by Cenario, Fri Jul-13-12 10:24 AM
did you watch any cleveland games last year?
2008099, most guys aren't used to played those kinds of minutes and that many...
Posted by ThaTruth, Fri Jul-13-12 10:29 AM
games and usually hit the wall and wear down and/or end up getting injured, like Kyrie DID, like Rubio DID, I dont why you are acting brand new. This is a kid that couldn't stay healthy through 1 college season and they're not supposed to be careful with him? Good thing you're not a NBA GM or coach, lol
2008104, stfu please...you were one of the dumbasses crying about lin
Posted by Cenario, Fri Jul-13-12 10:46 AM
needing to play despite not being cleared by doctors.

Kyrie was healthy coming into the season, playing well, cavs were hovering around .500 early on, in a weak eastern conference and byron was consistently playing him under 30 minutes a night.

The injuries he got were a concussion and a new shoulder injury, nothing in relation to durability issues.
2008111, Ok you're just arguing just to argue now so I'll let you be.
Posted by ThaTruth, Fri Jul-13-12 10:53 AM
2008114, lol, ok. you talking bout the reins shouldn't have come off b.c
Posted by Cenario, Fri Jul-13-12 10:58 AM
guys are more interested in doing tricks when coaches take the reins off and that wanted to switch up to durability issues lol.

and i'm the one arguing to argue? ok dude.
2008124, and actually I said the same thing about Lin, he went from not playing...
Posted by ThaTruth, Fri Jul-13-12 11:19 AM
at all to playing 40 minutes a night and it was obvious that he wore down
2008127, actually, you said lin sucks and belongs in the d-league but thats

2008321, Shaun Livingston says hi, managing a rookie's minutes is smart
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Jul-13-12 06:30 PM
Not everybody is a freak like AI or Marbury when they come into the league. There was no need to push him beyond what he was doing and the difference in wins would have been marginal. They would have had a terrible record either way.
2008125, who hates Kyrie Irving? Seriously. I don't see or here that anywhere

high-profile NBA players (even out of the young crop from say Durant on down) there's really no noticeable amount of 'hate' for this kid comparitively speaking.
2008376, No, but he was easily one of the most criticized #1 overall picks
Posted by Orbit_Established, Fri Jul-13-12 09:26 PM

Everybody backtracking now, of course, but people
were really hard on him pre-NBA draft. I don't
recall a pick being criticized that much

obviously, established vets ain't playing.

but you don't think Kyrie, Gordon, wall, jennings, lowry, tyreke etc wouldn't participate? Kyrie gon be an all star soon enough, but besides him, those other dudes got more to gain than lose imo

Problem for Rie is he put Cleveland on the map now...Kobe gonna GUN for them this season. Ratings just went up for that game...who's the guard for CLE? He might have a long night (can't double Kobe this year with Nash)
2008119, you might have a better chance between LA that way tho

I think a lot of that hype was done to see if the Cavs would take the bait.

Paxson would have done that shit.
2008194, Nah, people just didn't think Irving would be so good
Posted by kevlar skully, Fri Jul-13-12 02:12 PM
And for real, he's prolly way better than most people could expect...
2008260, I had no doubt about Irving but admit that I thought Williams was ill
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Jul-13-12 04:20 PM
Like every three years one of those tweener forwards has me thinking he is unique among flops of the past. I still think he will be a good player but I'm not on some "it's just one year" shit, Irving better period.
2008299, Irving was always good, I don't think anyone really took Derrick
Posted by Bombastic, Fri Jul-13-12 05:30 PM
'Second Coming Of SuperCoolBeas' Williams over Kyrie seriously......and they really wouldn't have if they'd been given the chance to watch him for a whole season of college.
2008322, my whole thing was there were several good PGs in the draft though
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Jul-13-12 06:31 PM
If they were just picking No. 1, Irving, but with 1 and 4, they had more options at PG down the line. I'll collect an L on that one and move on
2008325, too early on Williams...
