1940140, Colorado gets whiter: Peyton to Denver
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Mar-19-12 11:10 AM
I deleted that Chicago-based post by accident. Sorry.

How many picks will Denver fleece Jacksonville for?

2 first rounders?
1940142, Apparently, Jacksonville doesn't want him.
Posted by Frank Longo, Mon Mar-19-12 11:11 AM
WHICH IS TOTALLY BATSHIT INSANE. He's worth a fifth rounder solely for publicity!
1940145, I am 100% behind Tebow in Jacksonville....
Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Mar-19-12 11:12 AM
He needs to come home. Asses will fill the seats.
1940151, I bet Jax fans want him even more now
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Mar-19-12 11:14 AM
than when he came out of UF
1940158, You're goddamn right they do.
Posted by Frank Longo, Mon Mar-19-12 11:19 AM
We had the worst QB performance of all the rookies last year, and our hometown hero took the Broncos to the playoffs and sold a bajillion jerseys.

#BRINGTEBOWHOME
1940202, yes,yes...let Gabbert and Tebow learn under the tutelage of Henne
Posted by B9, Mon Mar-19-12 11:50 AM
The two young athletic noodlearm "quarterbacks" will learn the art of the over throw, under throw, blown play and wounded duck from one of the league's masters, running one of the most boring offenses the NFL has ever known (Mularkey). Rather than making horrible down field throws, Teabow will ply his trade to blowing 6-yard screen dumps.
1940270, I wish we'd bring Mark Brunell home, frankly.
Posted by Frank Longo, Mon Mar-19-12 12:39 PM
He was terrific for the city of Jacksonville, and he's probably a hell of a mentor.
1940949, yup. NOTHING to do with Denver's defense getting hot late.

Gabbert actually had pretty average "rookie QB" numbers. Completions around 50 percent, 12 TDs to 11 picks, all with perhaps the worst receiving corps in the league? Yeah, that all looks terrible when you see what Cam did, how Andy Dalton started the season, and the run the Broncos went on with Tebow, but it's really not that bad when you look at the rest of the team.

Save those picks, give Blaine some fucking professional receivers to throw to, and get ready to laugh at whichever team with an absolutely wack defense thinks they're going to ride the Tebow train to glory.
1940147, Miami will give them three first rounders for Tebow
Posted by Marauder21, Mon Mar-19-12 11:12 AM
1940148, Can u delete shellys post so I can make that TeBow like its my own?
Posted by Ceej, Mon Mar-19-12 11:13 AM
1940154, Lol San Fran is screwed if Miami signs Alex
Posted by JAESCOTT777, Mon Mar-19-12 11:18 AM
1940157, Remember when he would only go somewhere warm??
Posted by Ceej, Mon Mar-19-12 11:19 AM
That was hilarious.

More importantly does he even have a neck??
1940174, all the begging Bud Adams and TN companies did was not enough
Posted by mr_graff, Mon Mar-19-12 11:30 AM
Elway and Fox must seriously hate Tebow to kick him to the curb like this.

1940181, Elway really didnt hide this during the playoffs.

1940233, bud adams still slobbin on that dick too w/ his public statement.

“I want to thank the whole organization for their efforts in trying to sign Peyton and also to Peyton for the time he put into the process. Peyton called me this morning to inform me of his decision and obviously I am disappointed, because I thought we would be a perfect fit. Now that we move forward, I want our fans to know that our expectations haven’t changed – winning a championship is still the goal. I like our quarterback situation moving forward and we will continue to build the team through free agency and the draft with that goal in mind. I also want to commend Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker. They were thrown into a very difficult situation. Matt was very good for us last year; and at some point, we expect Jake to be our future franchise quarterback.”

such a slap in the face to hasselbeck & locker.
1940351, man even THEY wanted Peyton.

1940212, As a Raiders fan this is best case scenario
Posted by blue23, Mon Mar-19-12 12:01 PM
Since we have no chance of winning this year it just means I can now save some energy by concentrating my hate of Peyton Manning, the Broncos and John Elway to one location. Thanks guys!
1940234, nah I like Peyton
Posted by cereffusion, Mon Mar-19-12 12:18 PM
now I can't.
1940214, If my agenda dreams come true ...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Mar-19-12 12:02 PM
Tim will sit the bench and learn from the GOAT qb. When Peyton gets broken in half OR when he realizes Denver isn't gonna sniff a SB and he wasted the last couple of good years left in his body, Tim will be right there ready to take that throne back and Elway's horse-head ass will have to kiss balls. Meanwhile Brady Quinn quietly fades into Bolivia and is never seen or heard from again.
1940242, do you think peyton will genuinely mentor the kid, though?
Posted by Flash80, Mon Mar-19-12 12:21 PM
or will it be a case of rodgers/favre type of deal?
1940417, he'll never even have the chance to, Tebow is gone
Posted by Bombastic, Mon Mar-19-12 02:44 PM
this was Elway's only possible exit strategy he could sell to the fanbase & he went all-in to get it done.
1940220, for no reason at all, I see this blowing up in Elway's face
Posted by rjc27, Mon Mar-19-12 12:07 PM
I have no logical argument to make behind that feeling... and I'm not even sure if Tebow will win anywhere, ever again, in the nfl, BUT... the Manning/Bronco's ain't gonna win shit but maybe 1 playoff game in his tenure...

I do get this from Denver's side though, a way to escape from Tebow, the only way really, without the fans picketing outside the stadium...

Peytons point of view though? Out of any team even MENTIONED (including Seattle, KC, Miami when they still had Marshall and could have had Wayne) this is definitely the worst place for him to go... Titans and especially the Niners would have definitely been better as well...

Denver has the worst wr group of those teams (and I like Decker and Thomas) they ran the ball well last year, but can McGahee do that again? The weather? Either way, as a Jets fan I'm glad because Denver poses a lesser threat in the AFC then the Titans would have
1940227, me too...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Mar-19-12 12:12 PM
I just need to see Peyton at game speed. I'm not convinced he can do it.
1940261, agreed. Peyton is my dude and all
Posted by will_5198, Mon Mar-19-12 12:34 PM
but the situations in San Francisco and Kansas City (if he wanted to stay in the AFC*) are worlds better.

*I never really understood this. what's this, MLB?

^^^^^^^^^^^^

and i'm still worried about how his neck will hold up to HITS. he doesn't take many sacks but he'll take some. there's no way to simulate that type of force so we won't know until it happens
1940228, Colts will have a better record than the Broncos
Posted by __Spread__, Mon Mar-19-12 12:12 PM
mark dat.

Peyton shoulda gone to SF if he wanted another ring
1940241, have you seen the Colts roster recently?
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Mar-19-12 12:21 PM
1940248, you know that Manning is on the Broncos now, right?
Posted by pretentious username, Mon Mar-19-12 12:24 PM
1940421, Colts being shitty sans Peyton is the reason this whole thing happened
Posted by Bombastic, Mon Mar-19-12 02:46 PM
.
1940646, the 49ers or the Cardinals made more sense than this IMO
Posted by mistermaxxx08, Mon Mar-19-12 09:30 PM
i don't see much of anything that the broncos have that says success and Payton will get a serious Blitz there.

it makes sense they sign him since they were the first team he beat when he started winning in the post season and he always seemed to have there number when the colts played the Broncos still this seems like the 3rd best choice after the obvious one in Frisco and even the Cardinals made better sense.

IMO the Chargers are still the best team in the AFC west and then if the Raiders can get it together.
1940801, Wanna bet?
Posted by RaFromQueens, Tue Mar-20-12 10:19 AM
I wonder if I can get a 2nd mortage...
1940249, Who the hell is he gonna throw the ball to?
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Mon Mar-19-12 12:25 PM
am i missing something? Who are the WR's in Denver? Who are the RB's in Denver? The Broncos didn't really have any stand out talent from what I saw last season. Maybe that's due to Tebow?
1940358, Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas are both going to benefit
Posted by Delajoo, Mon Mar-19-12 01:52 PM
greatly from having a pocket passer like Peyton.

McGahee was solid last year averaging 80 ypg
1940509, How much do they lose though
Posted by josephmurf2384, Mon Mar-19-12 04:25 PM
going into a system where they have to get open quickly as opposed to Tebow buying time, also Safeties won't be spying Manning for a rush so they will face extra coverage. If they can create separation and get to the spots manning wants to put the ball, great for them, but if they both turn out to be average receiver who benefitted from a run first QB they could be fucked.
1940513, wait what?
Posted by HecticHavoc, Mon Mar-19-12 04:32 PM
wouldn't it be MUCH tougher being a WR where the QB cannot get them the ball on the TIMED ROUTE IN PRACTICE? Tebow threw a duck and rarely dropped back and threw the actual route/pass called.

idk, it would seem receivers gain a shitload more having Manning there than Tebow.
1940544, I'm just saying they didn't really face safeties that much
Posted by josephmurf2384, Mon Mar-19-12 05:42 PM
and everyone kinda bit when Tebow moved allowing them a lot of big plays. I haven't seen enough Decker or Thomas, but i remember them catching balls on broken coverage not being especially great at separating and reading a variety of coverages. I don't think its a given they shine with Peyton and if they can't grasp his offense he has shown a tendency to get frustrated with young receivers. I could see some struggles year one. When Tebow was throwing the ball most Ds didn't give a shit about what the WRs were doing since Tebow could only hit them like 30% of the time. Again i didn't watch a lot of Denver football so i may be wrong about there ability to get to spots it just seems that a lot of what i saw they benefitted from broke down coverage and long balls not 7 yard in routes and curls.
1940377, good
Posted by Jesse Badgreen, Mon Mar-19-12 02:10 PM
1940429, Tennessee would've been a good fit but I'm pretty sure he didn't want...
Posted by ThaTruth, Mon Mar-19-12 02:53 PM
the media-created drama that would come twice a year when he played the Colts.
1940469, this is outstanding!
Posted by HecticHavoc, Mon Mar-19-12 03:26 PM
i've been attempting to jerk and reject all morning (i cant do either)
1940516, the worst part about last season
Posted by Jesse Badgreen, Mon Mar-19-12 04:35 PM
was that you motherfuckers had no expectations going into it. well, the worst thing is that norval and aj are still here, but the second worst thing was that y'all went from the kind of no expectations that meant "fuck it, they're terrible, i'll watch because it's football but i won't enjoy it that much" to the kind of no expectations that meant "they're a lot better than i thought they'd be, even if they don't win another game, i know i'm happier than badgreen."

now you motherfuckers have expectations, though. i'm looking forward to reading the disappointment in next year's broncos off-season post.

even if that doesn't happen, things are looking up for the division. the raiders are still the raiders--they just went from being owned by an icon to being owned by a motherfucker who looks like he has a dragon tattoo--but the other three teams should all be better next year than they were last year.
1940525, LMAOOOO
Posted by HecticHavoc, Mon Mar-19-12 04:45 PM
you could not have put that better.

this season the entire Denver fanbase will be coming in with more expectations SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE IS NO KYLE ORTON. i mean... having him as the starter going into week 1 could be compared to a dude shitting his pants on the way to a blind date. you simply are not going to be throwin your hip out that night player; but you will be throwin out dem briefs.

back on topic tho, the facts are these Jesse: division champions, returning coaching staff with its first 'full offseason', aaaand. well thats about it.

look man, PEYTON FUCKING MANNING. this also means Weapon-X is definitely not gonna retire. just hope this is a productive draft and we can get some value for Tebow.

good to see the Chargers are letting go of a lot of their players to Free Agency. you did sign Eddie Royal, hes legit.

Chiefs and Raiders are done, all disrespect in the world.
1940493, what a fuckin loser...
Posted by Crash85, Mon Mar-19-12 03:54 PM

and I don't WANT to, but I HAVE to. Mainly because I need Mr. E(d)lway to fall on his horse face beneath this 5yr/96 million dollar deal. Also some of these Denver players are REALLY gettin on my nerves with the comments and shit. Now they actin like Tebow aint do a fuckin thing at all. Thomas wouldn't even give dude props for his part in what the team did last year. Bitch made. I know it's hard to feel sorry for a millionaire, but I hate this for Tebow. All the kid wants to do is ball. When they win, he defers to the team. When they lose, he puts it on himself. He doesn't talk shit, doesn't get into trouble...just does what he's asked. I lightweight hope he does end up as a back up to ARod. Can't wait til Denver DOES NOT win a SB. CAN'T WAIT (c)Bart Scott. And yes.................I'm mad.

peyton going to denver is makavellian.* if they do well, SD loses, he gets some getback, maybe the chargers leave (if some realistic alternative pops up), the manning family continues to hoe my city.

if they don't do well, the chargers' playoff chances improve, norval and AJ stick around, SD loses. the manning family continues to hoe my city.
