our program doesnt hinge on one recruit. but it certainly hinged on bringing in the right coach at the right time. the only 'must get' of this year was urban meyer...everything else is gravy.

and you have to think that salvaging this year's recruiting class was a big reason why they're pushing to bring him in in november. hopefully he can pull a few rabbits out of the hat...preferably on the offensive line, lb and wr.

This game is our chance to hit the reset button on the rivalry. We've lost this many in a row, and then this season is a huge transition year - new coaches for both teams, OSU having a down year, it's at the Big House, possible BCS bowl game on the line, etc. If we win, we stop the streak and Hoke doesn't have to answer questions all off season about losing 8 in a row to OSU as if he had anything to do with the previous losses.

we win and it will be proclaimed "no big deal" and a string of "wait till next years" will be thrown around.

Ohio State waited quite some time for the chance to find out whether Cincinnati Taft's Adolphus Washington will be a part of its 2012 class. Tuesday morning the Buckeyes coaching staff learned it was worth the wait as the state's top-rated player picked Ohio State.

The wait is over. The Buckeyes have their man.

Defensive end Adolphus Washington, the top-ranked player in the state according to Scout, chose the school this morning in a ceremony held at his high school, Cincinnati Taft.

Washington (6-6, 240) is the third-ranked defensive end in the country and the No. 15 overall player in the country. He is up for the prestigious U.S. Army Player of the Year Award, and had previously said his college choices were narrowed to OSU, Michigan State, Kentucky, Michigan, Miami, Oregon and Alabama.

He adds depth to a much-needed position at Ohio State, which has been weak in the pass-rushing department this year after an injury to Nathan Williams.

Washington's high school teammate, highly touted wideout Dwayne Stanford, also chose this morning, picking Oregon just days after returning from a visit to Eugene. Stanford (6-4, 195) is a three-star prospect.

First off, the atmosphere going into this game was so much better than the last three years. In 2009, walking into the stadium, Michigan fans had this "sheep to the slaughter" vibe about them, save for the few delusional dumb asses (hell, one of them posts here). This time though, there was legit excitement and buzz going into The Game. That was nice to see.

As far as the game goes, what a fitting end to our season. That spike had me wondering WHAT THE FUCK Fickell was thinking. Now it appears that Miller says he thought he was supposed to spike it, and Fickell says he called a play for them to run. I'm not sure who to blame, I just know that under Tressel, that would have never happened.

I'm awfully critical of Denard (and rightfully so) but he played a solid game, except for the fumbles (which I predicted btw). Borges let him play within his capabilities and he shredded our 1 and a half linebackers. Ryan Shazier should NOT have been out there, and Etienne Sabino is just not good. The injuries on the defensive side of the ball finally caught up with us, but this game was still very winnable.

We left at least 3 TDs on the field with passes that Braxton overthrew, or that our receivers dropped. Again, freshman QB, and freshman/sophomore WRs (save for Posey), that shit happens.

Watched it with a bunch of friends at a bar in NYC. I'm impressed with Miller, loved the fight we finally showed in one of these and was a combination of thrilled and relieved. Denard played a great game despite the fumble and really did a great job of throwing smart passes and not just tossing it up there. Fitz is a beast for real. Disappointing defensive effort but I think we're still on the right track. Give Mattison some more elite athletes and get em some experience and maybe we can have a good defense again. The improvement from last year to this year is pretty damn ridiculous.

I got to follow that up with a pregame rally for BU-Cornell at MSG at which I got to take a picture with the Stanley Cup, then we beat Cornell in overtime, and then I was out with my friends from NYC and Boston til 4 in the morning. And it was a fucking beautiful day in New York yesterday. Shit was right.
