and this is not to defend Matt Ryan because Ryan is an underachieving SOB imo. But to say the Jets defense is somehow not better than Atlanta's is retarded.
Here's the real meat and potatoes to see who had the better 2010 defense
-Jets were 3rd last year in total yards allowed/ Falcons 16th. The end. That simple.
It's a lot easier to win in the playoffs when your defense can keep the other team in check long enough for your offense to make something happen. The AFC and NFC title games contained 4 of the top 10 defenses in the league (3 of the top 5). No coincidence.
