the team was old/had peaked and literally everyone inside the org knew it. most notably ainge knew it. think he had loyalty to allen? no, he shopped him. he proved he was serious by dealing kg and pierce.

that is not a critique of ainge, as you probably know i thought he won the deal with the nets and has done the right things to move forward generally. it's just the reality of the situation.
