The idea seems to be more, "we're throwing our weight around" rather than "let's stack the deck against Daniel Bryan because we don't like him"

It's either one, or the other, they can't have both. Either they have a personal vendetta against Daniel Bryan that doesn't involve the rest of the roster, or they're on a power trip that happens to include suppressing the Daniel Bryan movement. They can't prattle on about how Daniel Bryan's not the face of the company and subsequently lay him out over 7 shows while firing others on a whim, then open a pay per view by making babyface decisions against a heel manager. They're trying to have it both ways: they want to be lying heels who say they're trying to be fair while actually trying to be fair in spots. Shit doesn't work like that. The subtle train left the station a while ago.

And I'm sure they'd argue that they're somehow showing "depth," and probably believe they're giving themselves shades like the characters on Breaking Bad, because those are the kinds of pleas they'd cop...
