Why do you say I am to brown? Or not light enough to scrub your dirty floors Step through your back doors and be your side whore
Why do you say I am to brown? Or not light enough to cook your fancy food Walk through your neighborhood and watch your children good?
Why do you say I am to brown? Or not light enough to hand wash your stank drawers Iron and hang the clothes you buy in those big time stores
Why do you say I am to brown? Or not light enough to laugh at your bad jokes With other phony folks who also say
I am to brown Or not light enough to be in their space That I’m a disgrace To the human race
Why do you say think and feel this way? Maybe it is your fate though never to late to realize My brown is too beautiful to hate

Stank | Define Stank at Dictionary.com
verb (used without object), stank or, often stunk; stunk; stinking. 1. to emit a strong offensive smell
A few weeks ago I heard an NPR radio report about black folks who are born/rasied in Seattle, WA. and are starting to move away to other cities/states where a larger black population resides. In this report, the interviewer featured an elder black woman who moved to Seattle at 16 years old. The elder told the reporter " I was too brown to be the help" for some of the folks who at that time and even now hire mostly people of color to clean their homes, take care of their children and wash their stank drawers.
Peace
