80743, Shadow Walker ... *short & sweet*
Posted by PhotoSynthesis, Thu Jul-02-09 01:25 AM
I stepped into his shadow
SLOWLY
Maybe three steps behind
SINKING
In a pool of perfection
THINKING
When I grow up I wanna be just like him
TALL & TOWERING
Like a redwood tree
BLOCKING THE SUN
While I skip and run to catch UP
GIANT STEPS STRETCHING
Across lakes of love & lessons learned
I FOLLOW
But stop abruptly
A MEMORIAL TOMBSTONE
Reminds me of his eternity
I WAS "HIS" LITTLE SHADOW
Until I grew into a Redwood tree
MY BRANCHES
Reach ^UP^ to the sun
SEQUOIA SEMPERVIRENS
Now I'm the only one
( ( ( Shadow Walking) ) )

RIP Grandpa

Note: He didn't die recently ... It's been awhile ... :(

your writing takes me back to sleeping in my twin bed in a full house on a friday night. When the old folks are playing spades in the other room frying chicken and talking trash. I miss home and I've certainly missed your writing. I guess I need to sneak my head in here more often.

Sometimes it takes a loss to notice what you had, and even then it takes a while for you to put it into words, and uve done so, i was feeling it, and im sure he can appreciate it from above... one love photo and to your grandad too... i can relate..x.

((( 2 ALL of U ))) -- :)

My grandpa was 6'5 ... so for a lil' kid, he was hella big -- *Gigantic Even* -- :P

In my eyes, he could see "over" mountains and touch the clouds ... I wanted to be TALL like him and see EVERYTHING too -- (or so I thought).

I'm a lil' over 5'8 now -- and I don't think I'll be growing much anymore unless it's sidewayz -- :9 ... but besides a lil' bit a' wisdom, I inherited his height -- (hence the Redwood Tree references).

With folks dying left & right these days ... I just wanted to acknowledge the Tree that this nut fell out of! -- *chuckles*

... again, thanks for your love & acknowledgement ... *I Appreciate You*

i know! it's as though the sun and the heat have taken up residence in texas! 100 degrees isn't hot enough, is it? :D as much as i comment on it, i love it. great for the skin!

glad you're still keeping the people in sunny spirits on here!

>... great imagery, i would love to listen to you say this =]

>cause i know you've done that before on soundclick!

^This^ was just a quick "brain~fart" spit off the top ... but I haven't put anything on SOUNDCLICK in quite awhile ... My CoolEdit program expired and I just let die :(
... ( It was bootleg anywayz -- :P )

I guess I succeeded at what I attempted to do ... thanks to gsquared and his boy ... and then I kinda lost interest -- *shruggs*

Thanx for the peep tho, boo -- (I appreciate you) ... :D

I know I'm gittin' old ... but I don't remember you "ever" responding to anything I've written ... *sniff~sniff*

... And maybe you have, I just don't remember ... (I may be suffering from the (((CRS Disease))) -- "CAN'T REMEMBER SHIT" DISEASE -- But never~the~less ... Here's a big "Thank You" for your response & recognition.

You made my day! -- :D

hey I read this before and didn't reply, it took me a couple reads to get what I think is it. very deep and heartfelt. correct me if i'm wrong but the three steps behind his shadow could be interpreted as grandfather(1step) father(2steps) child(3steps). child being you? I dunno maybe I read too deep anyways I'm keep checking for ya joints, I like to be challenged through poems. And deeply sorry for your loss. PEACE

My goodness ... you're perceptive! -- (I didn't really think anybody would catch that so I dismissed it as filler) -- :9

>the three steps behind his shadow could be interpreted as grandfather(1step) father(2steps)
>child(3steps). child being you?

My writings can be so eclectic sometimes, one never really knows "where" I'm comin' from -- :P

But I appreciate your delving into the translation/interpretation.
