Got the Idlewild dvd in the mail yesterday and watched it. It was a good piece. A good cast and nice musical.
Why hasn't Andre's acting career blown up more? Is it because he doesn't want it to? Doesn't want to be in the limelight like that?

the things i heard this man record and turn down were amazing
if it dont move him or its not for family...he dont do it

Like, he's been in Noah Baumbach's latest, Claire Denis's latest, and Kelly Reichardt's latest. Not playing big roles either-- really small roles. (Although Reichardt had him record some flute for the soundtrack.)
I think he's just one of these dudes who has as much money as he needs and is content to just do artsy shit going forward. He doesn't need to be a star anymore.

I mean, it's very very very clearly Outkast's worst, but it's a solid album.

in Chattanooga, TN back in '06. I was listening to it on the 1st leg of a road trip and didn't like it. Someone gave me directions somewhere and I just said here take this and gave them that cd.
Ironically the music sounds dope in the movie. There is some sort of disconnect goin on.

the movie has different mixes of both the soundtrack and older music. i'd love a music-only track because the versions are otherwise unreleased.
by the time the movie was released, they hadn't put an album out of each other rapping on the same songs throughout in 6 years. they never did again.
