746775, M3GAN (Gerard Johnstone, 2023)

Saw this shit Thursday afternoon/evening.

It's a very good horror comedy. This is a class act of balancing tone which it nails. Seriously hilarious at times with some true pulse pounding suspense on what exactly is M3GAN gonna do next.

Drops in January and if you can see it in Dolby, do it.

Here's the trailer (you're better off going on cold TBH): https://youtu.be/BRb4U99OU80
746791, I was sold after seeing her dance in the trailer

Didn't have much interest til I saw the RT scores and critics appear to dig this so may give it a watch.
747211, A lot of wooden dialogue and and acting

everyone was unlikable, and I wanted M3gan to kill everyone.

I don't know if the intent was to get you to root for Megan, but that's what it was for me.

On the flip, it was my daughter's first horror movie in the theaters, and she enjoyed it. So that's all I really cared about it.

Spoilers

They leave it open for a sequel, but not quite with Megan. Frankly, I came away wanting more Megan, and less of everyone else, so that's something. I'll probably see the sequel since my daughter enjoyed it so much. So hopefully they find a way to bring Megan back.
747224, I saw it with my kids. It feels like a new genre.

Like Kid friendly horror comedy.

I keep going back to a post a while ago I made about how come there are no comedies like we had in the early 2000s and I think who ever said all movies are comedies now and I think they had a point.

15 years ago this would have been a different movie. More kills, less comedy, maybe rated R.

Now I am an old dad, I am not mad at this change and can not believe that my parents allowed me to go see Friday the 13th the final chapter IN THE THEATER at SEVEN YEARS OLD!!!

Funny but not funny enough
not scary at all
bad dialogue
The kid & whoever voiced/acted the doll were great tho.

Weird roll for Ronny Chieng, but I'm such a huge fan, I'll take what I can get.
747479, Dialogue was straight to dvd b movie for me

747480, I still don't like that chick who created her lol

But the movie itself was a C-. I'm glad I didn't go pay for this at a theater. I would have been mad at myself.
747531, Between girls and Get Out, she is forever on my stank list.

I'm sure she's lovely in person, but if I ever see her in real life, I'm crossing the fucking street.
747542, I was rooting hard for M3gan to take her out
