A 6 part dramatized miniseries about the beginnings and the rise of Hip Hop in France
from the early 80’s onwards.

I’m only 2 episodes in and it’s really good. It does a great job of making you feel like you’re there watching it all happen. The music, photography, wardrobe all add to the atmosphere and feeling of the time.

“Created by Hélier Cisterne, David Elkaïm, Vincent Poymiro, Katell Quillévéré, and Laurent Rigoulet, Netflix’s ‘Reign Supreme,’ AKA ‘Le Monde de Demain,’ is a French series. Set in the 1980s, the show follows the rise of NTM, a band that helped usher in the era of hip-hop in France. Viewers also get a glimpse into the life of DJ Dee Nasty and how he rose to fame. As the younger generation seeks recognition and progress, these artists become a medium to voice their demands”

If you’ve got an interest in the early days of Hip Hop (internationally, in this case), it’s definitely worth checking out.
