2021 was pretty amazing, with ODDTAXI, Arcane, the Godzilla anime series, the Star Wars Jedi series and such being high profile anime showing up on different networks.

ODDTAXI really spoiled things for me with Mech anime and whatnot, so I have been searching for stuff that would appeal to me based around strong story telling...

I am somewhat obsessed with the Godzilla series on Netflix, as its a throwback to the monster week movies when I was young.

I started watching the Netflix version of Ultraman....so far, eh

But what I am really into, is I went and started watching Paranoia Agent (aka Shonen Bat or Bat Boy)....

if you've seen some other Hosoda flicks it's like the Digimon one and Summer Wars on the internet/real life shit. i still have some of the songs in regular rotation months later.

Ranking of Kings/Ousama Ranking has been the surprise gem of the last year or so. Bojii is the people's champ. while wholesome and really simple, visually and narratively it's running laps around most things out rn. i stopped at ep 5 weekly to let it finish up to binge. i think there's 1 or 2 more eps left before it's done.

Demon Slayer Entertainment District managed to be even better than the movie

I tried Platinum End for about 10 eps weekly. Great idea, really poor execution

went back to watch Full Metal Panic finally. the first season felt like a really bad ripoff of the Gundam SEED era. that 03-06ish feel. the Fumoffu season is some of the funniest shit i've ever seen

I need the Bleach relaunch and the new season of Bungou Stray Dogs ASAP.
