He did not have to go this route, at all. Had this 3rd season with Denise's story arc come out a while ago, fine - but for us to Waithe all this time and get stuck with an LW season is lame. Not saying he'd have to address the things that went down with the woman, he already addressed that kinda clumsily in his standup, but I'm sure him and the team could've written a poignant and thoughtful season where they might've brought something similiar up - to hide away and let Lena run this season feels unnecessary and kinda cowardly / lazy. Shame, both seasons so far have been pretty good

Unless he was lying, but I get it. I want more of him as the lead. Denise is cool and all but i liked it better when her storyline as his friend.

Some of the shots and music choices borderline on pretentious, but overall? There was more heart and...I don't know, truth, than the previous two seasons.
The IVF episode was amazing in itself.
I don't understand the hate on LW.
