Easily. Thoughtful writing, sensitive but intense execution. Perfect blend of “issue” and narrative. In a year boasting some fantastic leading male performances, Riz Ahmed is right at the top of the pack. Paul Raci deserves Oscar love too.
It’s not necessarily the easiest sit in the world, but it’s so very worth the two hours you’ll take watching it. Strong, strong recommendation.

Completely agree. Riz Ahmed was fantastic, and the sound mixing/editing surrounding his hearing issues was disturbing and real.

I was a little surprised the movie centered more about addiction than actual deafness, but it worked on a lot of levels regardless.
