Watched the first two and so far it feels like what the last 2 seasons of True Detective should've been

Good post Americans role for Rhys. I'm on board. Anyone watching?
739029, Feeling good about it so far

John Rys is great. And Shea Wingham as a degenerate is always fun. Lithgow is doing a solid job as a lawyer who used to be the shit but now clearly his best days are behind him. I always like Chris Chalk and hope he becomes central to the story.

Still trying to figure where/how Sister Alice and the church fit into this, besides being the common denominator for the family and the suspects.

But yeah, I'm in.
739030, Sign me up.

also is Lithgow getting paid by the number of times he says "boy-o"?
739069, Good acting. Story isn't coming together

Like, I still can't sort out how the church figures into this. We know there's dirty cops and DAs on the take, but not much seems to be connecting (or trying to connect).

A noir version of the last season of True Detective seems pretty apt. I'll ride it out until the end just to see how it sorts itself out.
739118, it's reminding me of Boardwalk Empire in a way

in the sense that they capture the era and location amazingly, the acting is superb, all the pieces are there but there's a misfire storywise that you can't quite put your finger on

I'll definitely see it through though
739132, This became a little more clear this week

I liked the cliffhanger
739210, Decent finish

never thought the central "mystery" coalesced enough, but there were enough elements that, coupled with the usual LA Noir tropes, made for a satisfying watch, as well as a good setup to season 2
739269, Yeah

i feel like it never quite fires on all cylinders, but there's lots to like and lots of potential. Loved the noir tropes, the classic LA location shooting/re-creations, and the performances.
739564, I like it so far

This show is begging to win awards for make up.

Every other 30 minutes there’s a dead body
