I'll always love it because it's a childhood favorite, but I remember trying to show it to a co-worker on a slow work night a few years back. he's about 10 years younger than me, and I hadn't seen it in forever. I was trying to picture myself watching this the first time. the gags all felt horribly dated but It had little to to with PC. My coworkers reaction was like, 'cool'. I think he chuckled a couple times as to not hurt my feelings and i felt like an old man trying to show a kid a Bob Hope movie lol

It's weird because i think Ferris Bueller, and Breakfast Club (outside that random dance sequence) have aged pretty well.
Sixteen Candles, not so much.
