i do remember it. some of the jokes were written and/or told by those minority groups or at least delivered in a way that they were in on them. many were purely at their expense. personally, a lot of the humor isn't funny to me now, but that's due to my age and the times. a lot of that should be relegated to those times if it ever should have made it on screen in the first place, in my view. we are genuinely more sophisticated and sensitive now, which is great. tv and film are more diverse and inclusive, which is excellent. we do tend to stay away from third-rail subjects in comedies now unless at the expense of those in power. that's one reason i agree that this wasn't a very good decade for movie comedies. again, there's got to be a way we can examine these issues, laugh, and maybe learn in the movie comedy format. it's a frightening prospect evidently.
