Holy shit.

I didn't know Sam had this in him. Like a cross between Dunkirk and The Revenant. I was more emotionally invested in this.

I thought the one shot gimmick would be Sam and Roger Deakins showing off but it works to the film's advantage as it adds to the intensity of the film and the urgency of the mission. BTW Deakins has the Oscar again. Just for the night sequence alone.

Can't wait to see it again in IMAX with the expanded aspect ratio.

FYI the gunshots and explosions are OD loud.

Easily one of the best films of the year.
736873, Holy shit.

>Like a cross between Dunkirk and The Revenant.

I always cite these two movies as among the most stressful (is that the right word?) that I've ever seen in the theater. In a good way. Sign me up.
736880, they showed a making of thing before jojo rabbit

737706, astounding technical achievement

to the point where I almost paid too much attention, to the detriment of the rest. But my god does Deakins annihilate it, and the camera movements just don't make any sense at times (that move through the muddy crater :O )

Acting was good, score a bit mundane IMO and one of the weakest points to me. By showing some diversity in the ranks this showed more historical accuracy than Dunkirk (though the major protagonists are all white). This is still a movie about good Brits and bad Germans, but not like I didn't expect it
737708, Please see this on the biggest and best screen you can. Amazing

The one shot really added to the claustrophobia and connection with the lead character. Im going to see if a second time, its that good.
737747, really good,flick.

Everyone was telling me it was on par or even better than Private Ryan. Cinematography wise it definitely was, but it didnt have the same emotional impact. Great movie though. Def should be seen on the big screen!
737838, yep agree with everything you said

cinematography was insane but definitely didnt have the same connection with the characters.
737842, yeah. it's a Gravity-type experience for me.

737902, beautifully shot and scored.

that night scene was an all timer. just the tone of the flare light was mesmerizing.

the tunnel collapse scene was panic inducing.
