The old man is back.

https://youtu.be/gSMxBLlA8qY

He seems to be making the same shit now.
736206, clint can suck a dick but this shit looks great.

736207, I'll be That Guy. We don't need this movie in this climate.
Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Oct-04-19 12:41 AM
Like, a movie about how the media and the FBI are fucked and ruined an innocent person's life? Directed by a hardcore right winger? It's a good story and all, but... is it what we need?
736209, Agreed.
Posted by bwood, Fri Oct-04-19 02:45 AM
That's all Clint makes right now though. The "tortured" white guy hero.

Looks like Sully.
736218, One of the many horrible things about dipshit’s presidency...
Posted by mrhood75, Fri Oct-04-19 07:57 PM
...is the need to somehow feel like we have to protect/defend the fucking FBI.
736225, Agreed! But here we are!

736328, 50th anniversary of Fred Hampton's death is coming up
Posted by Walleye, Tue Oct-15-19 07:27 AM
Eastwood's a shithead, but I don't think it's ever a good time to stop saying true things in deference to the fucking FBI.

736340, I have a suspicion it will go harder against the media

THAT'S the story to be told, then. It earned its "good reputation" while attacking Martin, Malcolm, and the Panthers.

*cue BLACK PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR*
737239, I don't even think it is wrong to take a dig at the media

if you have the right angle. particularly in pursuit of sensational storylines in the 24/7 news cycles, you can have people out there on some extreme bullshit.

(remembering the Iraq War, and the run up to it, for example. too many people forget that, while "never forgetting" 9/11)

it's just a problem now because you have Dolt 45 screaming about "fake news" and kicking reporters out of the room.

like the FBI, I really hate having to defend CNN, because of the above.

I also hear the complaints about them making up (possibly malicious) shit about a person who is dead. the response to that should be, this is a biopic, which means by rule, some things are going to be completely made up. Odious as it may be. It's not as if this film is presenting itself as a documentary of historical record. Let that colour your review.
737241, that would be an entirely silly response
Posted by Rjcc, Thu Dec-12-19 02:59 PM
as though the people who made the movie had no control over what they put in it.

737259, only to people who don't understand what biopics are.
Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Dec-13-19 01:27 PM
737264, biopics write themselves? no one sat down and decided what to put in it?
Posted by Rjcc, Fri Dec-13-19 04:10 PM
holy shit that's fucking amazing

736343, I fee like all his past couple films

are make up for looking like an idiot talking to that empty chair, gotta appease the RNC and dat base.
736219, wtf? smh.
Posted by rdhull, Fri Oct-04-19 10:10 PM
736339, i'd be interested if someone else were directing
Posted by Rjcc, Tue Oct-15-19 01:43 PM
because the story is big enough

736987, The Old Man can still make a movie.
Posted by bwood, Sun Dec-01-19 05:38 PM
This is solid, but it's mostly carried by the actors. Especially Paul Walter Hauser. He should be nominated.

Olivia Wilde's character is written atrociously. Wait till you see that problematic shit.

But overall, very solid for someone who hasn't done something solid in a long time.
737018, see reply #9. so they just made up a scene
Posted by Rjcc, Tue Dec-03-19 02:38 AM
of her fucking for a story?

surprise surprise

737220, But, you know, James Bond did it, so it's okay.
Posted by mrhood75, Wed Dec-11-19 01:08 PM
738117, that whole character was just insufferable.
Posted by Reeq, Tue Mar-03-20 10:03 AM
dude clearly wanted to make journalists look slimey as hell.

i really do wonder if clint was genuinely interested in this story then just emphasized his agenda items within it.

or if he already had an agenda in search of a movie to push it through.

cuz its a good story/movie on its own without the tampering.
737240, The only thing I'm eager to see from Eastwood
Posted by navajo joe, Thu Dec-12-19 12:31 PM
is him in a casket. Fuck that cracker. I'll never forgive him for that Obama shit.

He couldn't make a movie great enough even if he wasn't a shell of his former self as a filmmaker.

He can get all the way fucked and I don't have respect for actor's clamoring to participate in his bullshit.

737351, flopped.
Posted by Soldado, Thu Dec-19-19 08:13 AM
737357, someone on twitter said it fell into an awareness hole
Posted by Rjcc, Thu Dec-19-19 02:44 PM
where "libs" became aware it was too shitty to support and conservatives didn't know they could see it to own the libs.

it's probably just too boring of a topic to justify the movie without a real star playing Jewell himself, andthe 30 for 30 was the right approach

738116, this was good. i cant believe i didnt remember any of this.
Posted by Reeq, Tue Mar-03-20 06:31 AM
kathy bates is such a great actress.

just steady throughout the film and then absolutely nails her moment.

rockwell does his thing as usual. hamm plays hamm.

jewell was good but frustrating as a character.

olivia wildes character smh.
738154, They made that up
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Fri Mar-06-20 08:28 PM
Olivia Wilde had to go on twitter and do damage control because the reporter she was playing is not only dead, but didnt do ANY of that shit Wilde's character did in the movie.

http://www.justjared.com/2019/12/12/olivia-wilde-responds-to-controversy-over-her-richard-jewell-character-explains-her-views/
738155, damn thats fucked up.
Posted by Reeq, Sat Mar-07-20 01:35 AM
and ultimately unnecessary.

738243, if you missed the 30 for 30 you should watch it
