When he was announced as Batman nobody was thrilled about the choice. How old are you? WB got lit up for that announcement.

partly because he was a comedic actor but mostly because him and tim burton were pairing up again after beetlejuice. also a lot of them didnt think he was handsome enough to be bruce wayne.

people have issues with every batman pick. but being too soft isnt usually one of them.

with that said most batman choices have been weird. sometimes they work sometimes they wont. ill let a trailer come out before forming on a opinion on dude playing batman.

im more worried about the writing/plot. get that right!

I think Christian Bale is a terrific actor. But as Batman? Well for one as Bruce Wayne had had no swagger at all, I thought he just played it flat.

And as Batman, I couldn't take that goofy ass voice seriously.

If Pattinson can play an interesting Bruce Wayne, and then not sound like the angry Cookie Monster as Batman, he'll do fine.

But the 3rd brake light near the roof of the car is hilarious to me. Like Bruce is designing the car and is like, "I need this to pass inspection so let me put this brake light on top." Ha!

but I had to do the same exact thing you did to figure out that specific piece of dialog, but I'm concerned inaudible dialog might be an issue overall since closed captions aren't available in theaters.

Perhaps I'll just wait for this to drop on bluray to avoid this issue, plus to avoid any potential COVID concerns with going into a NYC movie theate.

and I feel a little better about this pics depiction of Batman, but I still have some concerns about the direction. Also, I gotta say, Bruce Wayne is supposed to be this handsome, slick socialite. They actually appear to have tried to my R Pats ugly in this.

I dont know enough of the history to know if that is part of her origin story. All the other films she rocks it from the get go.

I think she had a ski mask with lil ear nubs in the first trailer.

Sometimes in the old TV show, she didn't have a mask (Julie Newmarr & Eartha Kitt versions) and sometimes she did...n and in the comics/graphic novels, sometimes she just rocks a pair of goggles and cat ears instead of an actual mask.

I’ve only been watching this on repeat on my phone and iPad. Seeing it on the screen got me super hyped.

Shang Chi , Vemom, and Halloween 2 raked, and you know Spider-Man is gonna do silly numbers too. It also sounds like this is finished, as many critic/blog type people are reporting they've seen it.

Wish they would have just kept Afleck. His portrayal + an aged, boozing, brutal, even more cynical, etc Batman would have been cool to see for a while.

Wish he and Reeves could have worked something out.

BUT...Pattinson looks like he's going to take the reign of the best Batman even as a younger emo lost version of him. These trailers and artwork look amazing so far.

A lot of the trailers are the same cuts in a different order. The way time is going, it's gonna be March hella quick. Or April, if theaters are shut down and you have to wait for the MAX release.

even if its relatively story heavy (compared to past batman flicks or even any super hero flicks)...that still seems pretty remarkable.

these trailers imply there's some type of secret we're going to learn. I'm probably reading into them too much and am just way too excited for this movie. But it would make sense that after so many on-screen iterations of this character we get a new layer we hadn't learned before. We'll see.

Bruce stays finding out that Thomas collab’d with the mob to get things done in the city.

Cobblepot comes back in town and basically fucks up Bruce's entire understanding of his world.

The sequel also sounded cool since Batman can either make or break the Joker essentially based on how you play the game but I never got around to it. They did some pretty unique stuff with the lore though.

I've never gone back through on an "asshole" run to make him completely nuts.

Seems to take place at a funeral, almost no dialogue just a lot of mood. Kind of a weird clip but it sets a strong tone even if it's kind of bland without context
