Wow.

I'm floored by this. After a rough first five minutes this movie really soars. Great world building, great use of noir/detective tropes, and this has a lot of heart. The father-son stuff feels like what Spielberg does.

Also, I'm so happy to see a kid of color lead a film.

If you want to get kids into detective/noir fiction, this is not a bad place to start.

Fuck man, now I want a Pokemon.
