Man this was fun as hell. It’s part of the Ip man universe, but I’ve only seen one of the movies a long time ago and it didn’t matter since they explain the backstory smoothly. The fighting is boosted by dynamic choreography and is really tightly shot, the early 60s Hong Kong (filmed on set) vibe is super well recreated, and it’s got dope supporting roles from Dave Bautista and Michelle Yeoh, who both get to feature in badass fight scenes. oh yeah, and Tony Jaa!!
